Pretty significant difference!

 

Ok. Must of been absent that day.

 

Last time I swapped the FPR hoping it was why I had 20lbs, I used the Ireland Engineering one I have, it's still in there as if it ain't broke, I'm not messing with it.

 

No issues, most of my area is at 6' above seal level. I still need to update the tune but I have some other work to do to the truck before I go down that road.

 

I changed my air filter last night*....Wix....and the 2nd tab on the rear of the lid broke.

now I need a new air filter housing.

question for the hive:

other than a stock replacement, what is the least volatile replacement airbox?

what drop in airbox can I put in - that avoids re-tuning - that just drops in?

keep in mind I work in a working rail yard otherwise known as > dustville.


I clog after about 8 months.

Id go this route too, but it does mean he needs to re-tune for the larger diameter intake lid unless he gets a stock 07-13 sized lid.

 

You can get the lower portion if airbox for $50 from SCOL, and the upper lid with TRD marking for I believe was around $250 from Toyota

I have the stock sized TRD intake that I am not using and will sell once I get off my ass and post it. It has a washable K&N filter with it. I do not know if it is the same dimensions as stock filter.

Ya it’s been a minute since I’ve been on here. But ya truck still runs great… I’m actually having a built IPT trans installed right now. Should get it back tomorrow morning. I’m trying to figure out if there’s any flashing involved on these trucks after you swap the trans.

I’ll give it 500 miles before I push it.. but my guy installing it said the long tubes make it a lot harder to yank the trans. I think he had to remove one of them.

 

Jumped the fpcm and now the truck cranks no start. Can hear pump running but no pressure at regulator. We dropped tank to confirm running the pump at 100% didnt blow any hoses and even tested pump in a bucket.. good there. Next we're going to check diaphragm in regulator.

 

Who’s gonna try the Chinese twin screw? No idea why the link says FJ cruiser but it should take you to a tundra 5.7 system. I’d love to know the price.

After looking closer, the ebay one is totally different, I'd not want wither but certainly not the turbo based one.

Yes, trans relearn is a thing that is required.

 

Powertrax and 4.88s are installed. I ended up having to replace the front axles with HDs as well. She’s a beast!
