Anyone have any recommendations for a Bed rack for a first gen? I'd prefer one that has a lower height than the cab, as I plan on using it for a RTT (Roof top tent) and don't want to increase my overall height too much. Haven't been able to find any online, with the exception being universal kits, but in my experience universal seems to mean "everyone except Toyota" lol. It would also need to have a high enough load weight to hold the RTT, two adults and a toddler. Don't totally need cheapest, but cost is still a factor, although I am fairly handy so if anything is "close enough" and just needs tweaking, I can do that too. Thanks in advance!

Depending on how handy, I wonder if a typical ladder rack-type setup wouldn't work, but you cut and re-weld the upright bars so that the "platform" or top piece sits at your desired height? Or just make a platform/deck out of 4x4s and 1-inch plywood that you can remove when not camping, and you set up a normal tent on top of that? That would fix the problem of not being able to fit bulkier stuff in the bed like a washer and dryer, if you've got a chop-top ladder rack permanently installed.

KB Voodoo Max Moduler has some good racks. love mine on my 2.5 gen. They also build on for the 1st gens. Multiple riser heights and available in steel or aluminum. Can also work with bed covers also.

I've played with that idea before, however I don't have access to or knowledge to weld lol, and I don't really want to use wood on this kinda build.

    All-Pro makes a weld-together one for the 1G Tundra.

And Victory Off-Road makes a Modular bolt-together one for 1G Tundra as well.

I've had both and both are great. All-Pro one is less money, but it's gotta be welded up.
