Changed wheels and lugs, will my spare wheel work with these nuts?

When I bought my 2011 SR5 it had the factory steel wheels. I bought a set of alloy wheels to replace them and sold the steel wheels. When I changed wheels I had to use proper lug nuts for the alloy wheels and now I don't have the old wheels or the lug nuts that they used.

It occurred to me that the spare may not work with the lug nuts that the alloy wheels use. Will the lug from the alloy wheels work with the OEM spare wheel or do I need to buy the acorn style lug (shown on the left in this picture) to keep in the truck in case I need to use the spare at some point?

Yes... you can use alloy nuts on steel wheels, but not vice versa; if you look at the alloy nuts they have the same taper at the end that the steel wheel nut has

Can confirm. I haven’t done this on my Tundra, but I just helped a young girl change a flat on her Prius last Thursday on I-84. She had aftermarket 17” wheels with tapered nuts. They fit just right with the OEM spare steel wheel.

Thanks! I was hoping this would be the case!
