I just turned over 3000 miles in the 6 weeks or so I've had the Tundra. I've had a lot of new cars and I don't think I've ever had one that is running more noticeably easier with miles than this one. I changed the oil about 2500 miles. Throttle response is better. I used to think it had about a 10% power deficit to the F150 I sold, now it feels marginal to -5%. The shifts were always good and well matched but even those mechanics seem to be working better. I thought maybe the drive by wire was learning and becoming more aggressive but I don't think so because mileage is static at 20.1 with a lot of highway.

From the F150, I miss the B pillar keypad and sort of the flat floor. The tundra SW isn't as natively friendly but it's been an easy transition. On the other hand, I love the ability to flip between CarPlay/AA to the Toyota native with a couple of touches. In the F150 is was involved by comparison.

Here's to hoping everyone's purchase get's better with time.

My 2017 5.7L loosened up at 55,000 miles. That's consistent with the other seven new Toyotas I've owned over the years.

I noticed my 2023 TRD Offroad Trail settle in after 2500 miles or so. Seems to get better with every mile.

I’ve heard this from others after the first oil change… I’m at 5k and the dealership didn’t want to change my oil until 10k … guess I’ll just change it myself

I changed it myself at 3K. I felt better about it but didn't have analysis done to determine if it's needed.
It's cheap and easy to do. $9 for a Toyota filter and washer. 18" of 5/8" hose. Drop the air dam and it's maybe 15 minutes of work.
