Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere before but I can't seem to find any other references to it. I have a really annoying rattle that both my wife and I have pinpointed to the panoramic sunroof - particularly where the front glass makes contact with the fixed rear glass. Anyone else have this and, if so, were you able to fix it yourself? I have had the truck since March and have had it to the dealer twice - getting tired of going back - although it goes in earlier September for its 5k mile service. Thanks!!

I just noticed this on mine as well. I picked it up in April but only have 2000 miles or so on it.
Seemed to go away after opening and closing the sunroof for now. We’ll see how long that lasts though.

Yes. Same here. Tried taking it in to the dealer but, of course, they could not reproduce it. Open and close sunroof makes it go away.

Yes - opening and closing the sunroof seems to make the problem go away but it only does so for a day or two at the most. Easy to resolve (at least temporarily) but just not what I'd expect on a $70k truck. Have had some other issues but those have been worked through. Thanks for the feedback≥

Just want to add to this that my 2023 1794 sunroof rattles at the joint of the sliding glass to the permanent glass but only when its "warm" outside. What I can tell is that the front glass bows when warm due to expansion. I have a photo before sunrise and cold where they are on same plane. When warm the front glass is bowed. It rattles badly until the interior cools down thus cooling down the glass. I have 2000 miles so haven't had it looked at yet. Anyone else notice this?

Has anyone had a fix to this yet? Not sure I want to go to dealership for them to "not hear anything"

No I haven't but I still swear it only happens in certain temperature ranges. Hot is ok and cold is ok but around 60-70F (and depending on if sun is a factor) is when it rattles and thats only until my heat/ac gets the interior right. Its definitely an expansion/contraction deal.

Getting back into hot summer temps. After a winter of no sunroof rattling, we will see if it comes back.

I just tried to fix mine this past week, so far so good. When you open up the sunroof, you see about an 1" overlap between the front panel and the rear panel. I'm guessing it's this part that bumps against each other and makes the rattling sound.
I purchased this foam tape and put about a 5" strip on both sides just to see if it would work.

Anyone have a video recording of this rattle? Trying to figure out one and can’t tell if it’s from my rack or the sunroof

bought some 3/16 thick tape that compresses down to 1/16 and put it at the corner where the noise is coming from....same area as @deanyuan We'll see tomorrow once its cool.

So far it seems to work. It's hard to tell what causes the sunroof rattle for me. The best I'm able to figure out is it has to be a specific temp range, and when I go over certain bumps.
Since putting on this foam tape, I'd say its fixed almost all of my rattles (almost because I have other rattles that I'm trying to isolate as well but pretty sure its not from the sunroof.)
@eddiefromcali - I only put it on the edges as a test to see if that would help. I plan on placing it along the whole length of the sunroof when I have more time.

Update: Rattle is still there . Adding foam tape in the same area as in the pics above did not fix it

The Rattles just came back on mine a couple of days ago after I put in the foam, which is why I ended up deleting my post. I apologize to anyone that tried that based upon my original post. It worked for 4-5 days and then slowly came back...ugh!!!

Mine also has slowly returned, although not nearly as bad as it was before. I also tried putting some foam tape where the wind deflected sits on the front glass, but that didn't help.

This is a common problem with Ford Raptors with the pano roof. Has anyone tried the Krytox weatherstripping lubricant? It’s a TSB from Ford and once you do apply the lube to the weather stripping around the stationary and moving glass panels, it stops.

The problem is that the rigid panels float in a rigid frame and if the weather stripping isn’t lubricated, it rattles. I clean and lubricate once per year…no problems since. Same procedure on the power running boards.

See the Ford TSB below for the lubricant and instructions.

This makes sense and something I have been meaning to try. I had a hard-top convertible that would rattle if I didn't regularly lube the seals. I used Shin-Etsu Silicone Grease sold by Honda. It would last a long time and was not supposed to damage the seals. I will try that or the Krytox.

I have the same issue. I have a 22 Limited and the rattle is driving me crazy. It's true opening and closing it seems to help sometimes but not always. But even if it helps it's comes back in few hours. For me seems to go away when it's really hot outside. Towards the night as it gets cooler it's comes back. I went to the dealer today for the fuel line recall wich was pointless becuase they have no fix for it yet but I figured if mention it. They looked at it and drove to see if they can hear it but they didn't of course. The rattle was actually gone at the time lol...anyways anybody came up with a solution?

Yes same for me, when it's hot there is no rattle. As it gets cooler during afternoon /evening starts to rattle. Anyone found a solution?

Sadly I’m dealing with this issue now as well. Pretty hot day today and been hearing the rattle non stop. Opening and closing does nothing. Tried the krytox method didn’t work. Tried that foam method didn’t work. Might have to live with it unless someone has a fix for it? Not sure how it is when it’s cold out. Honestly had the truck for a month and I’ve heard it every now and then but didn’t pay much attention to it. Today though every bump I go over I hear it. Strangely enough if I have the the shade close it doesn’t make the rattle. Same if sunroof open or in vent mode

Sorry to hear that the krytox didn't work either. I just purchased the grease and lube, but haven't tried it yet. Mine has also gotten progressively worse - I guess I have to bring it to the dealership anyways for the fuel line recall so hopefully they can hear the rattles too...

Mine has rattles just behind the overhead mics in the headliner, pulling the headliner down/pushing up usually works for a while. It almost feel like velcro when pulling the headliner down. I wish we had the option of no sunroofs on any trim.

I also get a noise from this area but have pinpointed it to the headliner. Something between it and the inner roof panel is making the rattle/crinkling noise. I can recreate if I push up on the headliner and reduce it if I pull down. For short term I have stuffed some gym socks between the headliner and roof via the panoroof opening. It as helped a lot but noise is still there. Will be getting the dealer to check it out at my first service.

I had the sunroof rattle taken care of about a few months ago. I took the truck to the dealership and had the service manager and technician go for a test drive. They were able to replicate the rattle and eventually replaced the whole panoramic sunroof assembly. Now, the noise is gone.
