Changed the rear dif gear oil in my 2018 Tundra at 60k miles. Noticed on the magnet of the drain plug that there were 3 small metal slivers about twice the size of a pin head. Any cause for concern?

If it's not making noise I wouldn't sweat it.

Taco-Spike, What does your comment have to do with the question posed?

It’s the “what he said” arrow. Shorthand agreement symbol. My rear diff had some odd debris as well. 2 weird disc shaped pieces of metal.

I changed mine last weekend, same debris when I wiped mine off. I actually pulled an oil sample for the heck of it and am sending it to Blackstone. My diff fluid didn’t look that great.

I haven't seen anything but small slivers that I don't think would have shown up with a magnetic bolt to attract them. Usually just some scuzz but nothing concerning. I've done five or six drain and fills. To the OP, it doesn't sound like anything I would be concerned about.

Completely normal if it was the first oil change. I did my first change at 9000 and it had some pretty big pieces of metal on it
