Ordered and installed a Weboost Overland signal booster. While looking at mounting options for the external antenna I decided I didn't care for anything I found so I threw together my own mount that allows the antenna to mount to my awning track and tuck behind my awning when folded down. Surprisingly with the antenna down it still boosts the signal!

 

Bad ass truck.. looks like hours of work. What are you using for the roto pax mounts? Looks like something utilizing the rails? Did you custom make that water tank mount on the rack?

 

Thank you! It's been an evolving labor of love. The rotopax mounts are mounted to a plate I made that bolts to t-nuts in the rail with countersunk bolts. The Waterport weekender tank is mounted using their "bed rack under mount"

 

Nice rig. What made you go with dobinson over arb? I’m debating on either two. I do like how the dobinson has no logos on it. How’s the fit and did you have to cut the fender flares to fit?

 

I went with the dobinson due to pricing and lack of logo. The fit is great and yes, I had to trim the flare for fitment.

Hey bud, can you please snap a photo of the ducting you have going across the hood cowl where I assume you run all your electrical wires from driver to pass side?

 

Yea, I'll try to remember! It's just 1.5?? split wire loom held up with insulated clamps.

 

Ok cool. Thanks! And you just put those clamps on the studs and then held them with a nyloc on the other side?

Yep, that's it. Simple enough.

 

Installed a new suspension setup and decided to go with Fox 2.5 DSCs F&R from Accutune with 700lb Eibach coils up front for all my added weight.

 

Next up is installing these BEEFY TRE upgrades from @Coachbuilder1!

 

@Jim LE 1301 here are pics of the fender flare trim. There were 2 simulated bolts in the area I trimmed. I removed those, trimmed until I was happy then heated up the indentions and flattened them out for better trim fitment.

 

Added some vinyl accents to the hood, roof and tailgate to break up all the white. Also got my Snorkel Upgrade precleaner in and on as well as upgraded my swingout latches with some of the E3 Machine billet latches.

 

I've been using the Decked drawers now for going on 2 years and put them to good use!


One drawer for tools and recovery gear....



The other drawer for camp/cook gear.

 

Took a trip to Colorado, Silverton, Ouray, Alpine Loop area September 9-22 and man what a time we had. The weather was nice even though it rained the first week but cleared up for the second week.

Got a few shots, still sorting through all the pics I snapped.

 

While in Colorado we also hit up Schofield Pass and man did it have some views! It was probably one of the sketchiest trails I've been on though, so due to that and the rain I unfortunately have very few pics of it.



The trail was stupid tight in spots for the Tundra, you'd think they'd warn ya or something!



Pictures don't do it justice but this was an awesome yet nerve wrecking trail. I didn't even get pics of Devils Punch Bowl below the trail at the bottom due to the heavy rain. Guess I'll have to squeeze down the trail again in the future! ‍

 

Awesome build, not sure how I missed it. @STravis had mentioned a snow wheeling adventure bummed I missed out on it.

 

Thank you! I've got to go back out there for redemption! My half slick tires were not cutting it then! Hopefully I can get finances in order and be seeing @STravis again soon for a front bumper and some more wheeling!

 

Sounds like we need to talk @STravis into organizing a pseudo get together/event for SOB'ers to do some wheeling.

 

I'd love to host a camping/wheeling get together. Maybe we need to put something together for next summer.

Blown away by the incredible build. While I don’t have the finances or intention to go full build YET (family truck still, gotta wait until it becomes a play toy) I still want to use it for trails etc and soon, camping.
How does your tent hold up, physically AND expectations wise? Any issue with the soft shell vs some of the hard shells available? I’m wanting to look into a bed rack system and rooftop tent for my 18 crewmax, but am overwhelmed. So, looking to solicit personal opinions based on experience…. Of which it looks like you have plenty. REALLY gotta get into the camping side of things.. I think my wife and I would enjoy. I KNOW I will, just want to get the right gear for the job.
Anyway, I digress… thank you for sharing your awesome build, and any tips and advice you don’t mind sharing with a complete rookie to this scene.
