Saw this on another forum, and passing it along. The only 2007+ gears that apply is the rear 10.5 in 4.88 for $98. I don't know if the 1st gens use a normal 8" but most 8" options are on sale too.

Not sure why everything is so cheap, but Toytec, Summit, etc. are all posting the same prices too and it's straight from Nitros website.

If you order from their website, try "WELCOME5" for an additional 5% off. They sent me the code after I gave up my phone number, might not have to give yours up.

Wish they had the fronts on sale too. Tempted to pick up a set and try to find another deal on the front eventually.

Nada here! And I can tell you from experience that getting in contact with Nitro is... not a thing. Leave a message or send an email, and you'll hear back. Maybe. :bananadead: I can see what's happening though. They use a back end called ASAP Data that a lot of different companies use to follow sale and MAP pricing. It pulls pricing from their site, and everyone else's listings follow which is why everyone shows that price. Whether they fulfill an order at that price is :notsure:.
I mean... I can help you out as a forum member all the time. :spy: Definitely can't do a 79% off though

Whelp, I sent it. I fully expect them to cancel my order but it was worth a shot.

    Edit: Hopefully I’m wrong!

Only 4.56 and 4.88s in 8.4". 5.29s are regular price.

The website was weird though. If I selected the gears by vehicle fitment, they had them at full price. If I went through the clearance page, they were heavily discounted. Here's links for a first gen rear end with the discount.

So what CAN you do for some 4.88's for the front 9" IFS clamshell for the tundra? Might need something to match the rear 4.88's that may or may not be sit-in my cart for the above-mentioned ridiculous price... PM me..

Called Nitro to ask about the front gear set as it’s in the clearance section but not discounted. They said is high inventory reduction and the 9” is not part of it. Damn, was hoping to get the set for a discount.

So, are the Nitro gears noisy? I know that proper install and break-in can help keep gears quiet, but I seem to recall several reports about Nitro's being noisy. Am I mistaken? Not planning on running mud terrains or tires that howl like a scorned ferret, so I value a quiet-ish ride.

I currently have Nitro 4.88’s in my 9.5 rear end. I set them up myself and I have zero excess noise.

I'm trying REALLY hard not to jump on those 4.88's... On the one hand, I'm having the rear diff pulled apart to install the powertrax unit; might as well do the gears. On the other hand, that would mean the front needs to pulled apart, so twice the time, thrice the cost... And my 32's wouldn't cut it anymore.. Back to the other hand, I do tow a lot and I'm thinking 4.88's might be worthwhile... Grrrrr.

Buy them and hold onto them. For under $100 you can't go wrong.

Got my $100 paperweight in the mail the other day...now to wait for the fronts to somehow go on sale.
