Figured I'd post here in case anyone else has maybe seen this before. Just noticed a bump on the bottom of my dogs upper lip. Will be calling tomorrow to get an appointment with the vet, but curious if anyone may know what this could be. 3 year old miniature Australian Shepherd. Thanks in advance.

I’ve seen those on my dogs a couple times but they usually went away pretty quick… but I’d definitely get it checked if you’re able to. Hopefully you get answers and it’s an easy fix.

Thanks, will post back up with the vets assessment. I just noticed it tonight and don't think it's been there very long at all.

My Mini Aussie Merle boy had a bump on his face the other week. By the time i could get him to a vet it was gone. Keep an eye on it. if it isnt bothering him it may be an insect or plant he got to that wasnt good for him.

My vet thought i was seeing things until i showed him the vid, then said it was probably an insect or some other as nothing has come from it.

Does he shy away from you touching it more than other areas near it like it hurts? Mine didnt care outside of normal stop touching my mouth hesitance.

Could be an ingrown hair, could be an insect or tick. Doesn’t hurt to have it looked at for sure.

Husky owner checking in here. This is definitely debatable. Our Husky is certifiably insane.

She has the dog equivalent of resting bitch face.
Anyone considering a 2nd Husky is equally insane.

The many expressions and vocals of a Husky, for sure! Our Husky here resembles all those remarks, x1000. love it. Husky and Border Collie Heeler mix here, the two are such great pals. Never a dull moment.

We just became part of the husky crew! My significant other found her on the side of the road. Get this. We quickly decided to put her in the lost and found on our local shelter's webpage because she had no tags or microchip. Everything was posted and we had waited to hear a response. While waiting, we just so happen to scroll through the other lost and found dogs and, no shit, saw the same husky. Tried contacting those people through the shelter and was told that the previous founders had her on a walk and she escaped from them. We asked if they wanted her back and they said no. I was annoyed but mostly frustrated that they would find a dog, lose her, and not have the responsibility to go through with trying to make things right. Either way, because of everything she's been through, I decided to add her to our pack. We took her with us on our trip to New Mexico to go camping and visit some family in El Paso. Here she is in all her glory:
    2023-07-20_12-46-43.jpg

Also, while we were on our camping trip, we happened upon a crazy event with a lost dog. As told by the Humane Society we work with, I copied it here for you to read. I wouldn't have been able to write these events any better than they did. I put it under the spoiler tag because of the length of the story, so it doesn't clutter the thread.

1f917_60e13fcb376884f43d08aaf9763d3d37d82982bf.pngGet your tissues ready because we've got a doozy of a story for you! But keep reading, it has a happy ending!
231a_17730f42f1258da9ba8e5a6425423118a4eb7e13.pngYears ago there was a military family that lived in Washington State and in 2010 they had adopted a dog named Max while living there.
1f43e_938231b46d74f8f489a53229494df38a86337652.pngIn 2012 they received orders that they were to be stationed in Hawaii and had only 2 months to report. The bureaucracy of getting one's pets to Hawaii takes several months and the family simply didn't have time to get all of the red tape completed. So they very sadly had to rehome their pets, including Max. 1f625_1d6953c099d77a7967c838829b3e305cf5d48dbc.png
1f632_978335252ed1bf0ab1cd0df2afc95489f3352403.pngFast forward to 2023 when one of our Humane Tomorrow fosters was vacationing in the mountains of New Mexico and one evening as they were driving up the mountain they saw a small, tired, old dog barely hanging on as he walked up the mountain. On top of being a senior with cataracts, arthritis and only a few teeth this poor little guy had open blisters on his feet from walking for who knows how long. How he survived the woods and didn't get hit by a car or become dinner for the local coyotes is nothing short of miraculous. Sarah (who also happens to be a vet tech) took the little guy in and nursed him back to health as he was severely dehydrated and so weak he couldn't eat. She wasn't sure he would make it but by day two he finally ate and by day three he was barking along with the rest of her pack. She spent those days asking everyone she saw if they lost a dog and looked everywhere for signs that someone was missing him. But when no one showed up she called and asked if we could take the dog into our program if she fostered him and we said yes!
1f31e_cd5d93486e251fc5cf9eb8f59af9acc3b0846c97.pngWhen Sarah got back in town we scanned Max for a microchip. The first two phone numbers were disconnected so we sent an email to the owners just hoping they would get it and it wouldn't go to spam. Within 5 minutes we got a phone call from the original owners that said they hadn't seen their Max in 10 years and were shocked that they had once again found him!!!! She said that she would travel however far it would take to pick him up and said "the decision to come and get him is easier than taking a breath." When she asked where we were located and we responded with Flower Mound, TX you could hear an audible gasp and with a choked up voice she managed to say, "My family relocated to Ft. Worth two years ago. I just can't believe this! I can be there within the hour." Needless to say everyone in the office had tears in their eyes and chills running throughout their body.
1f43e_938231b46d74f8f489a53229494df38a86337652.pngAnd true to their word they were there within the hour. She brought along her two daughters, who had been elementary school aged when Max was adopted, and had cried for weeks when they had to rehome him. So almost 11 years to the day they were reunited with Max and he walked in their house and curled up on the couch on the same exact spot he used to sleep in as a young pup. Even telling the story now still brings tears to all of our eyes!
1f449_f9cca57e4caf8bdccd1efd7f4193c3c6ea8caeca.pngMicrochipping works. And that is why we at Humane Tomorrow microchip every single animal that is adopted. 1f60d_22bc7f9daf99ffc8cca9b2d45ac4d91f5b3eef76.pngYay for happy endings!1f60d_22bc7f9daf99ffc8cca9b2d45ac4d91f5b3eef76.png

Edit: Also thought about it and felt bad for not adding my other two pups. So, here they are:

Similar to how I aquired my husky. Found his mom, no one claimed her. Turns out she was pregnant and I kept my dog and my roommate kept the mom. Found homes for all the other puppies.

Sadly I don't think they lost that dog. It sounds like they abandoned her. People suck. Dogs rule.

That's exactly what I told the pup when we found him. Dude wasn't listening at all to anyone's advice. So, we decided to make the decision for him. Here he was right after we got him mostly recovered.

Just finished an hour long trail run, ending in rain. We got turned around at one point but kept running and then did our normal run on top of it.

Martha is exhausted but had a great time.

Relaxing in the sunroom, nose pressed up against screen, listening to the rain.

Hank goes to work with me sometimes. He just runs around, stares out the front door, and occasionally naps.

His FI collar says he gets 25k+ steps in while “working” but only gets half that when having a lazy day at home with the spare human.

We finally got the dogs together and both my son & I were pleasantly surprised how they quickly they "made nice" :D

Riva' just hit 6 months and Dior is going on 2 years but they played hard and and our Pup slept the entire 1-1/2 hour trip home  ;)

    Both are rescues :) !!

    Riva & Dior in Arcadia.jpg

Y'all know my story with Riva' and my son rescued his Pit from a shelter after she was beaten ..

That poor thing is now the Queen of their home and runs around with my 4 year old granddaughter like they are "Bestie's" :hattip:

This is Penny, our 10-pound miniature dachshund. Turned 15 this year. Got her from a dog shelter when she was about 3 years old. She caught that rabbit in our back yard. Has caught rats and gophers too, from my traps.
