I feel like they are wearing really quickly. Had a major blow out yesterday and now need to probably get new tires. I tried plugging it yesterday when I got home from the hills but it wouldn’t hold (too big). My truck came with Michelin Trail LTX, and I have just under 26k on them and even without this blow out, I don’t think I could fathom going into winter on this set. I do have a tire warranty with the dealer so I gotta call them up Monday and wade through that.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the stock tires?

A number of people have removed these tires as soon as they get their trucks because they are subpar. I have new set of Falken AT3W just waiting to be installed. I was able to get $100 off per tire for my LTX's. The tire shop I deal with has contracts with car rental companies so they will probably make their money back and then some on my new take offs.

Just get rid of those LTX's and find some better tires, Falken, Nitto, Toyo, Cooper or BFG are all top candidates depending on what you do with your truck.

Do a search on this forum and you will have days worth if reading about different tires and what people think of them. That's what I did and narrowed it down to the Falkens. Good luck with the dealer on that.

Yeah we will see how it goes. I am shocked at how poor these tires are really though. I got nearly 75k on the stock tires on my old GMC. I have read some of the threads so yeah, some good options out there

They didn't make things like they used to. Now it's designed for cost rather than designed for quality or service life.

The stock Falkens on my '23 are the WORST tires I have ever used, on anything I've ever used with a tire. I have 4,300 miles on them and they are about 70% gone already. They won't make it to 10,000 let alone 7,500.

Those Falkens are specifically made for the manufacturer and not the same quality or deaign as if you buy them from the tire manufacturer. Those are ATW3A' s versus ATW3. I would have changed those too if my truck came with them.

The most shocking part of this thread is someone actually bought the new car tire warranty..:eek2:
Although I'm glad it worked out for you..

I put the Falken wildpeaks on my past f150 and really liked them vs the nitto Terra grapplers I took off. Better traction all around hands down.

Yeah, I did do that, first time ever, afterwards I found out I probably did a dumb thing, but now we will see. I hope it works and if it doesn’t I will be sure to stop by the salesman’s desk and let him know how I feel about that and lesson will be learned by me.

Well they fixed the tire. Gives me some time to look for some much better rubber. I complained about those crappy tires and of course he didn’t know what to say. After arguing about that stupid warranty I bought, I will never do that again. It’s all but worthless. I guess there’s a fool born once a minute, but they won’t get me again :argue:. They even charged me for the patch. :spending: For anyone out there please do yourself a favor and pass on that!

I pass on EVERY extended warranty. All cash grabs in my opinion. I am 59 and have had 2 warranty claims in my life

the Bridgestone Dueler HTs that mine came with are actually wearing better than I thought they would. I'm mostly commuting and only tow/haul when I do weekend warrior stuff. So far 9,000 miles and I could easily see them going to 30+k and still pass inspection. I imagine if you're towing a lot that would be different. Will likely swap to some stock size Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs when these have 25-50% tread left. So far so good, except my alignment is slightly off from the factory.

OEM tires are always crap shoots from just about all tire and auto makers. They are sometimes identical to retail tires of same model and sometimes knock offs for a negotiated price. I have had original tires last 75k. The worst were continental eloads on a Chevy 2500 that were thread bare at 15k. Just keep an eye on them and some money in the bank to buy good ones.

Falken WildPeak are the worst OEM tires I’ve had in a new vehicle. They usually last 20k miles, these Falken were gone at 12k Miles. Switched to Michelins.

My TRD Sport 4x4 came with Yokohama Geolander X-CV tires (265/60/20). Aesthetically I can't stand them as they look like tires you'd get on a Mazda CX-5 or something. The truck looks a bit like an elephant on roller skates as the tires seem a bit too small. They seem to ride good, though, and are quiet, so I'd have a really tough time justifying spending the money to go up to a larger A/T set of some sort.

I have 10/32 tread left on a set of stock Bridgestone Duelers at 20k miles, pretty sure new is 12/32. Are you guys trying to burn your tires off?

Stock tires that come with the truck are not made to run 50k miles.
They remind me of the print cartridges that come with new printers.
Good for a few pages and then want you to buy the real cartridges.

My truck came with the same tire. I learned they are not the same Michelin tire you get when you go to a tire store, they are a much lighter version that don't last nearly as long. I replaced mine with some 275/70-18 all terrain E rated tire that has the snow flake on them so I can run them year round.

Those tires will ride like a tank at 50% wear....just an FYI. MY last set on my 2.5 Gen it was like I was being chased by a pack of coon hounds when I drove down the highway. Hated them

Thats just it....I want to change mine but the KO2 I pulled off. the last truck Duratracs were worse which is what the KO2 replaced. I honestly dont know but those are my results with them. I am leaning more for a AT3 type tire as I ran those for decades working, E rated tire, no howling while driving. I need a M+S or snowflake as I am in Canada and this changing tires twice a year is a pain in the ass and I dont want 2 sets of tires and wheels any more

Keep in mind in Canada our roads are "rougher"....not sure how to explain it but the salt and sand + plow trucks weather them. Depending where you live your results might be better

In North Idaho, I'm sure most with pickups just have a decent AT tire they use year-round, but the difference between an AT tire with 3pms and a good snow tire is still huge. I found it hard to break the back end out, in 2wd, with my blizzaks last winter. I'll keep them on my oem wheels after next winter and ditch the duelers for AT tires on new wheels.
