    Needing some advice…

When looking for a topper or camper shell, there is a wide variety of used ones out there, but they either say what they came off of or the seller didn’t mention.

so, my question is, what fits what? Are these things universal/generic enough that if I know what my bed dimensions are, and they tell me theirs, will it fit?

    will Chevy fit Thundra etc…?

I was in th same boat. I have an SR5 Double Cab and a new shell would cost me about 4 to 5 grand once it landed on Maui. I found a shell on an early model Dodge that had the same dimensions. Not completely done with it yet, but have had a few beach days and it works out really well. So many custom mods done already and more coming or are in process.01111_azS4FHi2U1z_0CI0t2_1200x900.jpg 20230106_190310.jpg 20230522_191157copy.jpg

I think that is about right, but not really sure of the truck year. It was an ARE "F" series shell..meaning the serial number. The dimensions I believe were: 80” L x 69.25” (Rear width) x 71.5” (Front width)

Well, yes and no. You may have to do some mods to the rear window. I like to build stuff so... It was a lot of work, and it does not match perfectly. It does seal really well on the sides, the front I have not put the seal in yet but I am confident all of my measurements have worked out. The rear is going to be the most difficult, but I have to wait until I finish the mounts for the actuators to lift the entire thing up (building my own EZTopper)131223.jpg 20230415_174634.jpg

Yes those are extruded aluminum to attach things to the side. I modified a roof kayak carrier for those short before work surf trips for easy loading. Also, when the interior is built out, I dont want to be putting wet sandy boards in there!

For a 1st gen AC the only ones that truly fit right are the ones made for a 1st gen AC. The DC ones can fit as well but not quite as cleanly. They are hard to find. I got lucky and mine came with my truck. They are for sale here and there if you're patient enough to find one.
