I have a 2019 Tundra Off Road Limited.
A couple of years ago I was trying to move a car that wouldn't start with a tow strap and managed to crack the grill when the car I was moving rolled into the front of my Tundra. Classic idiot move.
I hated all the chrome plastic of the original grill anyway and changed it with one from an SR5 model that was all black but did not have the radar sensor in the emblem. I removed the sensor from my old grill and glued it into the the middle of the new one.
The alignment of the sensor isn't perfect and using the cruise control for more than a few minutes causes it to flip out and give me an error message. This was fine for about 10k miles, but recently something changed and now I get an error message telling me that radar is not available all the time. It overrides the digital speedometer which is really anoying.
The dealer says that the only fix is to install a new grill and sensor.
Any thoughts on other solutions? Has anyone tried one of the non Toyota TRD Pro style gills?
