I went with JBA UCA. I've been happy with them and the company. I like that they are greaseable and most people seem to have gotten good alignment results. Another popular choice is SPC.

I will be joining the 6112/5160 club! Found a local shop that can source them for me and do the install and alignment! I'll post pics before and after, but just wanted to thank everyone for posting pics and tire details. Tires are next, but I am undecided about wheel size. I have the factory 20" rims but am thinking that the 18's look better.

6112 and 5160's are in, KYB top hats should be in next week. I am going to install the rear myself, but need to find a local shop for fronts. First shop wants to keep my truck for two days (day 1 install, day 2 alignment), but that is a challenge since this is my daily driver.

QUICK TIP ON 17" WHEELS !!!!!! Have you installer place balancing weights just inside of where caliper sits, so it does not whack off the weights in one revolution. It's that close, ladies and gentlemen.

Was it the 17" wheel diameter that got you, or the 0mm offset?

I just put a set of 6112/5160 on my first gen tundra and I’m really liking the ride. I was hoping they weren’t going to be to stiff but they ride excellent. They are firmer but not harsh at all

It’s been quite awhile now. How is your truck holding up. Did you eventually add shims? Truck looks great !!

Anyone regretting 6112 and looking into Fox or Kings 2.5s? Or made the switch already?

I am very happy with my 6112/5160 for the past 2 years, it has been great to me, with a lot of slow off-roading too.

You like how it rides? I’ve got stock sport with both sway bars and wanting more plush ride. Contemplating between 6112 to save some $ and tuned Kings, which is more than double the price. Can’t make up my mind

It rides pretty stable/firm on the road, while having enough articulation off the road. the biggest factor I am not going with kings/fox/icons is that I don't want to deal with maintenance/service for every 30-40k miles I drive. The down time, additional labor is just not worth it to me.

I'm putting on my 17" wheels soon also and it looks very close. Do you have pics of where they put the wheel weights? Thanks

I completely forgot about the rebuilding factor. I can’t imagine having to deal with removing, shipping and having truck sit somewhere on jack stands for a week or more, that would be pain in the ass. I wonder how many miles you can get out 6112! Man I’m even more confused now!

You should reasonably expect around 80k before the 6112s start getting tired. Have you ever had a performance biased suspension before? If not, even the 6112 is going to be a big jump in performance over what you are feeling now. Also, how do you plan to use the truck?

Not performance suspension on the Tundra. It rides somewhat stiff compared to my Silverado work truck. I always compare the two.

Truck will be mostly mall princess. With occasional camping few times a year. But I feel like I want that comfort while daily driving. So in my head it makes sense paying extra $1500 for Kings. But once you step back and take maintenance into consideration and price….that’s where I’m very confused. Sorry I’m tired and all over the place trying to explain my feelings lol

Real happy with mine. Did the 6112/5160 with a spring pack. First two weeks after installing them ran some street SUV tires that came with the truck. The ride was better than stock, smooth, handled better and no rebound on bumps or quick stops. After putting the AT tires on it still handles great. I drive a lot of corrugated dirt roads at 50+ with no chatter or rear end drift.

I had the 6112/5160 combo on my other truck (SR5 without TRD sway bars, no rear sway bar at all), and now have a 100% stock suspension sport package. They ride pretty similar. The 6112/5160 rode quite a bit firmer until I added my rock sliders and heavy ass gas tank skid plate. After that they had a bit more plushness. But, about the same as stock sport suspension.
The advantage of the 6112/5160 being firm, was that it also eliminated body roll and brake diving. Again, very similar to the sport package. Both trucks had/have Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 295/70/18, so tires are out of equation.
    Hope that helps.

Thank you all for explanation. So I should expect very similar ride as my current stock sport. Hmm 6112 got handling, price, reliability, less maintenance and kings got more $, high maintenance but plushness. That’s tough call.

I appreciate everyone who commented/responded. Thank you!

I see most people run the 6112s with 2 shims ds and 1 shim ps. Anyone just run 1 shim on the driver side with 5100 in the rear? The setup I'm considering for my 21 is 6112/5100 on the 1.9 setting. 1 shim ds. With bumper shims if needed along with bora wheel spacers and bumper shims if needed. With 285/70r18 ridge grapplers

What’s the weight of the rock sliders? 100 pounds? At what point does the suspension require heavier springs vs the factory setup? I have the 3 rci skid plates, and a heavy ass subwoofer in the backseat so I guess that’s comparable to rock sliders. I want to try a lift but also still fit in the garage for hail season.

I want to say 150#. I also have a full steel Victory 4x4 gas tank skid, around 80#, and full Valhalla 1/4 aluminum skids and cat protection. I believe the full kit is around 50#.

I did put the Valhalla kit on the new truck, but haven't yet added the sliders or tank skid. But, they were on my old truck with 6112/5160. The 6112/5160 had some added plushness after adding that stuff. I'd say the spring provided was plenty. The rear was stock leaf springs, lifted with Toytec shackles. Suspension mods went on at just over 4k miles. Truck was totaled at just over 18k miles. So everything was still plenty fresh.

New suspension will be going on the new truck, hopefully beginning of next year.

The above post was also for you, in case you missed it.

I was lifted 3/1.5 in the old truck (2020). It fit under my 7ft garage door fine. Even the shark fin.

I feel like my stock setup just barely fits in my garage. I think just moving up on tires size would be cutting it close. It’s a 7ft garage but the door seems to hang lower than the cutout.

Mine garage door hangs down a little lower, also. Most do. But, some could be worse than others.
