lol…it is on the agenda, but finding a battery box for BCI GRO 27 is not as simple as one would think.

i still think doing a battery relocation is still the way to go….

Lesson learned from Amazon. Ordered the Hypertech speedo calibration since it was $100 cheaper. It showed up today.....missing the damn circuit board. Sending it back and ordering one from Hypertech directly.

the image Amazon has for the tundra hypertech with the circuit board is for an old version. the most recent version is just a harness, the black box and the usb cable just like rough country's

So mine looks like this image from one of the Amazon reviews. This is correct? I wonder why it is so much cheaper than everywhere else.

Mine definitely doesn't look like the one in the review where something looks like it's taped to it. It looks new and the USB cable is in a sealed bag.

yea the one in the review looks more like rough country's with the exposed wires, but that taped part sure is odd..

here's two vids showing the calibrators and the installs, legit the same thing:

Thanks. I did order one from Hypertech but I emailed them about canceling it. Theirs is $100 more than Amazon. If Hypertec will cancel it, I'll install the one from Amazon. It will either work or it won't. If it doesn't I'll return it and reorder from Hypertec.

hopefully they can cancel it considering it costs so much more through them. Amazon has always seemed to have it cheaper than everywhere else, even when I bought mine in 2019. The install wasn't bad at all, I think it took like 30-40 minutes to get everything in. What took some time was inputting tire sizes and driving around to see how close to actual speed I was, so I'd recommend leaving the usb cable connected to the box and routed down so you can access it easily.

If the hypertech doesn't end up working though, why not try the Rough Country? a few dollars more than the hypertech on amazon but still less than the hypertech on their website

Yeah I'm familiar with the install. I had one on my 2013, and that one had the old circuit card. I'll definitely leave the usb attached. Is there really a need to disconnect the battery during the install? As far as the Rough Country, they said that it doesn't work for the 2wd. My speedo wasn't off by much with the 285's, but it definitely is now since installing the 295's on Saturday. I told Hypertech that I bought one through a vendor and thought the board was missing, so I would think that they will cancel it. If not, I'll know that at least it's a new unit and return the Amazon purchase. At least my rear AC conversion worked out today.

Tackform hooked me up too. I contacted them about phone fitment in their wireless charger. They said if I place an order for the mount, they will swap the charger out for one big enough for my phone, and they even gave me another 15% off. It was already on sale with $20.00 off.

might not be necessary to disconnect the battery. When I installed mine I didn't but noticed the set changes didn't take. Disconnected the battery and that fixed it. afterwards I haven't really had to disconnect the battery whenever I connected to the calibrator to make changes

I have the HT speedo calibration tool..you will need to adjust the tire ratio in inches. you can use your tire size (285/65/20) but if you wanna fine tune it.. you will need to play with the tire size in inches (like 34.55, instead of 35" tire) I also got speedometer 55 (in app store) and I use that to verify my changes to the HT unit. It took a bit to play with it to get it right. I was one mile off then got down in the weeds with the 34.56 stuff and stopped using the tire sizes from above. i got my unit set for tires size in inches at 34.68" and this gets me right at 70 on both the app and the trucks speedo. I left the usb behind the dash and ran it into the console under the dash.. just so i could get to it later if needed.

Is this rear AC mod just adding those vents to the center console? I'm pretty sure that came from the factory on my limited; is that not the case with the SR5? Seems silly.

The Double Cabs come with a flip out cup holder. To add rear AC, you need the duct, rear console panel, vents, and the power socket trim panel.
