Nope, never had that problem. My truck gets a ton of compliments actually, which drives my wife nuts.

So after all of these posts, it looks like you (and the few other Tundra owners in your area) are the only ones. Those attitudes by the ones who build the Big Three are probably a big reason why the Big Three quality is so bad.

If anyone says anything at all it's usually some compliment on my dog hanging out of the window. Once in a while, I get "How do you like your Tundra?'

I live in Michigan too, but have not had folks driving other brands of trucks yell at me. I've had three Tundra's since 2012. I will say that in 2012 there were very few Tundra's on the road around where I live. I work at a fairly large company and there was no one besides me that drove a Tundra. I would get heckled from coworkers about driving a Toyota. Then I would explain that 80% of the parts in my truck were manufactured in America and they are assembled in America. Then I'd ask where there truck was assembled and typically they drove a Chevy. I would also tell them that only 60% of the parts on there Chevy were manufactured in the states. Most would walk away grumbling at that point.
I've heard many horror stories from the guys at work that drive trucks from the big 3. Transmission issues in Ram's, cylinder deactivation issues in GM's which led to engine failures. Fords with electrical and engine issues. Some guys would ask me abut my truck, "How's it holding up?". I'd tell them it was fine, just normal maintenance.
Over the years more and people at work have bought Tundra's and now there's at least 6 to 10. Plus, I also see a lot more Tundra's on the road around mid Michigan.

I've gotten nothing but "hey, nice truck" and "now I have truck envy".

I try not to be a terrible driver as well.

I did have someone follow me for like 20 miles after a forced merge and then flip me off when he finally had the chance to get around me at an intersection. I can honestly say that in tight traffic the Tundra's size is an advantage since people generally don't play chicken with a mostly full size truck.

I also refrain from political or other potentially inflammatory messages. I have a Binford logo, and a few other Toyota or Ohio-related decals is it.

mostly full size? These things are huge! One of the reasons I resisted getting one for so many years. My FGT was just so right sized for everything else. Then we bought a big camper.

Lol. I meant more that it defies the American definitions of 1/2, 3/4, 1 ton and is just its own thing.

My CrewMax has a short bed, but Tundras have a huge rear end and powerplant for their size. Towing and payload aren't huge, though. A Tundra is like nothing else.

It's definitely regional. Somedays I get cut off easily by a hyundai. Other days, a durango will be hesitant to politely merge in front of me. Even with me backing off and giving space.

I can get pissed at other drives easily but I always try to reel myself in and remember that I don't know what's going on in their lives. I once had to (unsafely) weave in and out of traffic for a family emergency. It would have been bad if someone decided to get super defensive and brake check me.

    None....
Where the F150 owners broke down on the side of the road, sticking their thumb out? Then yelled and cussed as you drove right past them?

I'm born and raised in Michigan. I now live in NC. I tried supporting the big three. I bought a 21 silverado 50k truck that's made in Mexico, it's transmission would slam into 1st gear downshifting. And got the lifter failure at 28,000 miles. The dealer and GM refused to give me a ride home or to give me a loaner. Granted GM had record profits again this year. I will never give them another penny. Truck burned 1 quart of oil a week when I got it back. Traded it in on 21 Tundra. I wish t could buy a true America brand truck but I'm not going to be treated like crap so GM shareholders can make record profit and Mary the CEO can pay herself 30,000,000 to 60,000,000 a year or $17,666.66 an hour or $300 a minute. F that

I believe the Tundra is designed up in Ann Arbor. Get a sticker that says "Designed in Michigan" and slap it next to the "Born in Texas" sticker.

There are tons of Tundras down here.

The only person who gives me a hard time is my dad, who drives an F-150. But he’s a carpetbagger, so what does he know.

Out here in rural Idaho and Washington, the worst people are those in lifted diesel pickups. Every single one of them drives obnoxiously and likes to "roll coal". Those in stock diesel pickups are the opposite; either hardworking folks or retired folks pulling an RV.

If you see a pickup and there is a smokestack sticking out of the bed, there is a good chance you will some stupid behavior in the next 5 minutes.

But no, no road rage against me in the Tundra, yet.

When I lived in a small town in Iowa for a few years, I ran into the most ignorant, passive-aggressive morons I have ever seen.

I worked as a Corrections Officer and drove a new Nissan Sentra as a commuter. My wife drove a 3yr old Infiniti QX4 SUV. My project vehicle was a `76 Dodge W200 crew-cab brush fire fighting truck that I was restoring.

We couldn't understand why we weren't making many friends in our new town and folks at church were stand-offish. We had to enroll our kids in a private Christian school since the bullying was so bad in the public school for our kids.

My wife finally got accepted by a couple of moms from the school and she was informed that the rumor was that I was a drug dealer because I drove a foreign car with a spoiler, and that my wife was a lesbian because she had short hair. Seriously.

Dumbest people I've ever ran across. Moved to Arizona from there after a few years and loved it.

So, I've to say that since moving to the Central Coast, I expected to see a crap ton of Subis, some VWs, some volvos and a Saab or 2...

So far, I have yet to see a Saab

I have seen a couple of Volvos (they are clearly from Portland), a small amount of V-Dubs, and lots of Subis... But, surprising there are a $hit load of Tundras here... FGTs, lots of Gen 2s and 2.5s and several Gen 3s. To be honest I think the number of Tundras I see here exceed the number of trucks from the big 3 combined

Most the hostility we see on the roads here result from folks not understanding what it means to yield (from stop signs, private drives, left turns, etc...) and from driving 45 in the passing lane on a 55mph Hwy (but that is not vehicle specific) :censored:

I only get crap from my brothers who work paving business. they put miles on their GM products and buy new once they hit 100k. They bragged about mileage but I rode with one the other day and his computer said average was 18. I told him mine is the same and I use all my cylinders all the time!

Minnesotan within a stone's throw of the border. I feel this in my soul. My brother in unfortunate enough to be stuck in a larger Iowan city and the overall state panders crazy hardcore to the ignorant masses. The tales he tells, eesh.

Where I am, I've actually noticed nicer treatment in my truck. I don't like driving my fiance's Subaru if I know I'm going into traffic, people either want to race, or try to crush it with their own cars. My Tundra gets ample polite merging space, people leave me alone in my lane, it's pretty great.

Solid chance it's regional, orrrrr - like you said, personal?

Southerners are generally a polite bunch so none of those shenanigans down here. NJ plates usually indicate someone in one hell of a hurry and I suspect that a lot of the aggressive drivers with local plates are from up north...or the south west...
I used to notice that there was a fair amount of road rage down in the Tampa Bay area but nearly everyone in FL is recently from someplace else, hark at the pot...
