My steel wheels hold water. Just the way they are designed. Smart me stuffs rags between the spokes at the low spot to absorb that water after a wash. Closed the shop and let capillary action do it's job.

Next morning off we go and within a quarter mile I noticed a shimmy in the steering wheel. Guess what dummy me forgot to take out of the wheels. On a positive note my brake calipers are clean!

I don’t think that qualifies as stupid, just a bit forgetful maybe. You’re going to have to try a bit harder. :D

That’s not particularly stupid. I can easily beat that…
I’m helping a buddy frame his house and being a bit taller than him, I can nail the shear panels at the top of the 8’ sheets from the deck. Dave needed a short step block. So…
All pumped with my fine skills, I go over right next to him and reaching way up to hold the nail, I say “wassa matter, canncha do this”, and then promptly hit my finger with a full swing. He just looks at me, pauses, and with a straight face, says “yeah, but I try not too”
    Now, THAT is stoopid!

edit: at least I can say this occurred about 40 years ago, lol

One pleasant summers evening I was fly fishing off the front of the boat wearing shorts and flip-flops. The Bass and Gills were really hitting the surface poppers. After seeing bats swooping I thought it might be smart to flip a popper up to see if the the bat would bite. At that point I became very, very stupid.

    You just wait
I once had a temporary loss of all intelligence. Grabbed a plate of spaghetti. Went to the living room and in the process of sitting down tilted the plate at a 45 degree angle. The dog was happy.....

My list would take years to get typed up! No regrets though! Proud of my PhD from the school of hard knocks. However, the bone and joint issues are something I could do without!

    your comment under the screen name caught my eye and reminded me of this;
When my grandson was about 3 or 4, he was in church with his other grandmother and kept putting his hands in his shorts.
Grandma told him to stop playing with it.
He said, “I’m not playing with it, I’m pulling on it…

Years ago I went deer hunting. Got to the tree I wanted to climb. Strapped the tree climber on the tree. Went to tie my bow to the pull rope. No bow. I left my bow back at the jeep. I was so mad I packed everything up and went home. I would say forgetting your weapon is stupid.

You'll have to read my book. I'm still working on it and my attorney is still checking the statute of limitations on certain events.

I once put my finger where I wouldn’t put my wiener.

I can never do that again.

When I was a kid in the navy working in the engine room of a submarine that was the exact phrase they used to teach us about pinch points and losing fingers. It has stuck with me to this day!!!

OK, I'll throw one out. I tried removing an avocado pit with a pointed knife while in the palm of my hand. This is a teaser from chapter 6 of my book titled, "Things You Never do with a Sharp Knife".

I might give you another teaser from chapter 7 titled, "Fire is Hot".

Chapter 1 deals primarily with alcoholic beverages.
