Can wildfire smoke hurt our engines?

    Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
    A Google search was useless. Probably because they couldn't try to sell me something.
    There must be particulate matter in all this haze but is it abrasive? I just drove 365 miles in this crud and can find nothing in my air filter so whatever got sucked in got blown out the other end.

    Any thoughts?

    I doubt it makes any measurable difference to anything. And even if it did, I think you're kind of SOL unless you plan to drive another vehicle specifically so your tundras engine doesn't see extra wear, and if that's the case then there's probably a long list of other things you should also be worried about affecting your truck :D

    Technically oil burning would create smoke as well. Or when you put in engine cleaning components. And engines survive that. So I think you'll be ok.
