Hi! I have a 2019 Tundra SR5 4x4 for towing a camper. It is not a daily driver so I haven’t done much to it beyond airbags and a bed rack.
I had a terrible experience with my dealership today for the headlight recall, so I want to clarify, if I order the black 2019 LEDs from Headlight Revolution and the wire kit from iHacker(if still available), do I still need the recall wiring fix?
Anything else I would need for easier installation? I love the adjustable leveling, so I hope that stays, but otherwise my halogen lights are awful and I would be glad to be rid of them.

I can’t comment on the repairs

but can say that there is a 15-20 percent off sale today and tomorrow that you can use for factory Led lights

    Too many, but not enough....
You would not need the recall done because the led headlights run much cooler at less power I think. Also the light output is much better so you wouldn't need high beams as much in the first place, which is what causes the problems on the non led lights.

I have an sr5 with updated oem leds and the harness too and even on pitch black mountain roads I don't need high beams

    Alot of them
You do not need the recall if getting leds. However, when you do go to a dealer for service, they will do the recall, so you need to make it known for them not to touch it. I have seen some of repairs and it is a hack job at best.

Thank you all for the quick replies. I see harnesses as options on Headlight Revolution. Is it better or easier to get the iHacker ones or just order with the lights? We leave for a long trip soon so would prefer to have them in before we go if we can.

I can't vouch for the HR harnesses. @iHacker 's are fantastically well made.

With regards to the recall, other members have mentioned that it is not necessary if you upgrade to LED's. This is correct. There is less current draw with the LED assemblies and therefore the risk of electrical fire.
When the LEDs came out, their design was to keep the low beams on when high beams were activated. Well this carried over to the lower trims (SR, SR5) that still had the halogens. Oops. So the halogen hi+low is where the significant current draw comes from and overheats the hair-thin wiring. If you run your highbeams on for a long time with minimal airflow (stationary, or low speed). If you get the OEM LED's then make sure you inform your dealer to not perform the recall as it is unnecessary.

    I second this.
Not a fan of items I've purchased from HR.

The @iHacker harness is well made and he is great to deal with.
I wanted to retain the amber DRLs during the day with the white LEDs on low with parking and headlights and he fixed me up..
