Hello. 2023 SR5 Off-Road here. When swapping out the stock "skid plate" (who were they kidding?) for the TRD version, I noticed something I thought was odd as shown in the photos. There is a radiator hose at the bottom in front of the radiator - I think it ties in the intercoolers - any way, there is a reinforced section on the hose (circled in second photos) that I "assumed" should have been in the support arm opening. It looked to me like perhaps the hose had been put on backwards. I just had the truck in for its first 5k service and asked them to look at it. Their answer was "no, toyota documentation shows it is installed correctly". Of course they had no explanation why there as a reinforced section on the hose that was not in the support arm. What do you all think? Is the hose installed correctly? Thanks

Can you slide that shielding between the clamp and hose? And welcome to the Forum.

Doesn't it slide along the hose? I wonder why the tech didn't do that. That's what I'd do. It looks like a Chinese finger trap.

Mine has the extra shielding in what looks to be same position, seems it’s used for anti-chafing for trucks with the deployable air dam motor.

My late 2022 SR5 TRD Sport developed a coolant leak at 1400 miles resulting in coolant expansion tank, connecting rod and hose being replaced. The service manager said some replacing parts looked totally different that my original or what was on other Tundras. Said my original parts appeared to be in his words 'home made'.
