Last summer, my 2020 Tundra (SR5 w/ TSS Package) wouldn't start and the dealership replaced the battery for free under warranty claiming that I had a dead cell.

Today (less than a year after after replaced battery) my truck wouldn't start again, and the dealership is replacing the battery again (for free) claiming that the battery failed.

I don't have anything aftermarket that would drain the battery, and my truck is practically stock.

Has anyone else had issues with the factory Toyota batteries? Since this is now the 3rd battery in 3 years of owning this truck: What could be causing my batteries to fail like this?

Sorry to hear but good that they replaced it twice. I would be checking the voltage every day and then if parked for a few days to see if there is a drain and it is not holding charge. One battery ok. But two bad ones sounds suspect. Jmo. Hope this helps.

I managed to kill the battery in my 2021 in less than 6 months.

The truck sees little use and I chalked it up to the evap and other items constantly draining the battery.

Upon replacement I now use a battery tender. 2.5 years no problem.

On my 2020 I had mine replaced twice by Toyota. Then for the 4th time, a bought a die-hard platinum AGM. I contacted Toyota Corp. and had them reimburse me for the cost.

Sometimes critters chew on wires and can create an open circuit that drains the battery.
A drain like if you leave a map light on.
If you are losing voltage make sure you don’t have a ground fault in the engine bay.
Take any multimeter on DC setting and check battery voltage.
Then remove the negative black multimeter cable and place on ground bolts (attached to frame) of engine bay.
Leave positive red cable attached to the battery + post.
You should get the same voltage that the battery checked at.
If it is lower with the black cable touching any ground bolts, you have a ground fault.

When we lived in Central Texas, I had two batteries die. Typically during the summer months, the dealer said that the heat killed the batteries and they see this often. I finally replaced the truck battery with an Interstate Battery from Costco. No problems since the replacement.
