Yes exactly! Not a minor issue at all.

 

Maybe that should be added to the first post just to impress on people that Stage 1, while it works, does not make for a happy truck.

 

Man those are some scary numbers. I forgot how much timing was being pulled.

And I recently spoke with Chris @ Harrop who still is keeping his Sequoia at Stage 1 untuned because it “runs so well.”

 

Well yeah, lean runs better, until it doesn't.

 

The scariest part of all to me with stage 1 was the lack of part throttle enrichment. High load+boost+lean AFRs in those scenarios=bad. I wouldn’t be towing with stage 1 that’s for sure.

 

Yea no kidding, nearly 5deg pulled and all over the place, and is essentially leaning out over 5000rpm at full throttle.

But as always, I don't claim to be a tuner, and every place I've seen seems to do tuning differently and prioritize things differently. Viktor is the only one I've seen that seems to actually address knock retard. Maybe it's not that big of an issue considering other tuners ignore it completely, but that doesn't seem right, otherwise why not just run gnarly timing everywhere and let the truck retard everything? But to each their own, and I'm not an expert. (And maybe some tuners do address it, I haven't seen how everyone does it)

 

Final items arrived today. Should be good to go to install this weekend if the old lady leaves me alone lol. @snivilous adapter plate fits perfect! Had to mock up the intake pipe just to see.

Awesome! Rey and I have been talking about the LS throttle body, we were suspicious that the Whipple bolt pattern was a LS pattern which it doesn't seem to be (or doesn't match any of the LS throttle bodies I have laying around). So the next thing will be figuring that out, if I could get the adapter to fit both the Whipple and Harrop that would be cool, though would probably lack in the aesthetics department then... We'll figure that bridge out when we get there.

Yea you aren’t kidding. My PE kicks in at 30 percent now and I can still build 2 psi before PE under low rpm higher loads.

The Harrop mounting hole configuration is for the stock Tundra throttle body in two different options, so you can rotate the throttle body 90 degrees. The mouth is 84mm, and I'm planning to use the 90mm GM throttle body for now.

The Harrop TB mount is already hideous, there is ~7mm of meat around the most narrow part of the mouth of the Harrop, that's the only measurement I noted, as far as the shape goes...see below.
