Going to nerd out on some little league baseball real quick -

2 minute recap - my middle child / youngest son fell in love with baseball about 3 years ago when he was 7. He has put tons of work into the game since then transforming a totally non athletic child into a bit of a ball player.

Last summer he tried out for a 10U club ball team. He really wanted to make the roster as the coach of this club has two World Series rings and most recently coached MLB with the Dodgers on their 2020 championship team. We went in with tempered expectations knowing it is one of the premier programs in the state. My son ended up killing it in the tryout and made the team as starting catcher for his first year of club ball.

The club team has about 18 kids so they can work 9v9 scrimmages for practice and then trim the roster to 12-14 for tournament play. We had a wonderful experience with the club season and the kids played great. Once spring little league season comes around - club ball takes hiatus while school / little league / AllStar seasons take place.

Last night we opened the city AllStar tournament with a David v Goliath matchup - our little league AllStar team with 3 club players vs our rival little league that has 8 players from the club team. Our kids weren’t intimidated and jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first inning with a homer from our clean-up batter. We were able to maintain the lead throughout making three double plays over the course of the game walking away with a 10-6 win. Our 3 club kids accounted for 7 of the 10 runs and they hold the bragging rights for the next 12 months. Such a fun night.

Our kids are back at it tonight, 7:30pm at Crossroads Park if any local crew want to come cheer us on.

 

Sound much more exciting than my boys 20-6 blowout of their opponent. Running second in their division right now, behind an undefeated team that can run. Most of their runs come of stealing on passed balls.

 

Slapped a 40th anniversary 4Runner weekend while we were out for Father’s Day. It was definitely lifted and had 37” nittos on it.

We blew up the scoreboard tonight - 30 runs on 22 hits - poor young team we played against had no pitching.

3rd round matchup tomorrow night - winner is one of two undefeated teams left in the tournament.

 

@GODZILLA got excited, per the Toyota website they have Inferno as an option for the base Corolla Hatch.















Until I saw they are calling this catastrophe Inferno......

I did googling and this also came up for Inferno. I think it looks pretty good on the hatch. But I agree that solar octane would work for it too.

 

Nightly little league AllStar tournament update - our kids came to play tonight. Managed a 3 inning 20-4 mercy kill. After 3 games in 3 nights - our kids earned some much deserved time off. Winner’s bracket finals Saturday at 7:30.

 

Truck days are good days.
