Interesting but kinda freaky article I just read - Wanna' be taller?

So I'm shorter than average height... "Fun Size", like those little candy bars at Halloween?

Used to be 5'7" but apparently at 61 next month I'm shrinking. Just had a physical and doc said 5'6"

My lifestyle has always been surf, skate, balance, agility oriented where a low COG is beneficial so after the age of 12 or so, I'm quite happy down here.
Dated a girl who was 5'11" plus heels for a while and I'm sure it looked hilarious to some people, but other than getting stuff off the top shelf it's just never been an issue.

Came across an article this morning about cosmetic surgical leg lengthening... very interesting read, but freaky as EFF!

Super expensive and super painful... people are paying 6 figures to have their legs broken!!

Yup. There was a girl who did that back when there was a height requirement to be a flight stewardess and it was her dream job.

 

Article said there's a bunch of tech guys lining up to do it... So weird!

Yeah, this gal did it decades ago. There haven't been height requirements forever. If you got the money to burn and your height matters that much to you, go for it. Still won't get you a date.

It’s my opinion but the only thing short people are short on is self esteem.

 

I recall reading about this procedure several decades ago, primarily used for a remedy for dwarfism. Very painful and takes a long time. I am a few inches shorter than my best height of 6’-1”+. After having a vertebrae removed and the natural compression of aging for 67 years z, I’m around 5’-11”. I don’t think I’ll get it surgically modified…

 

Not sure which is cheaper, but I have a theory on which one will yield better results.

Apparently you can get 'em shortened too.

First world problem for sure.

 

Having to talk about your feelings would be more painful.

 

Elective surgeries are not without their hazards, despite their ubiquity.

I can’t remember where I read it anymore but someone got a blood clot form this surgery and passed away.

In addition stretching out the connective tissues and muscles is not ideal for your body.

 

Lotta reasons why humans should go extinct.

So how does the loan work? 1200$ / month. So lets say schmo cant pay to get his legs longer after getting it done...

WTF are they really going to do, repossess his 3-6 inches?
