Just figured I'd add to the forum that I've learned so much from the past 4 years.

This is really meant as an informational post for others considering this setup.

    Hint: It's awesome!

Background: 2016 Tundra Crewmax TRD with 73,000 miles

Went from 275/70/18 on stock suspension.

My rear struts were leaking and tires were bald so I figured I'm going to have this rig for years to come minds well do it right now.

Bilstein 6112 at Top Setting (2.5) - Shock Surplus was great and rushed my order for free!
    Bilstein 5160
    Coachbuilder +3 shackles in rear

Tires: Goodyear Duratrac 285/75/18 with no spacers/stock TRD rims

Rake currently with topper/rack on top is probably around .5 inches.

Removed front air dam/mud flap from front. Tripped Skid plate about 2 inches on both sides. The only rubbing I have now it VERY VERY slight at full lock on passenger side sway bar. I suspect it will disappear after some tread wears down. I didn't need to heat gun the fender liner.

    Alignment appears perfect.

Will plan a diff drop/carrier bearing drop when I get around to it (I have the parts but not the time right now)

Anyway, coming from a stock setup and worn shocks the ride quality surpassed my expectations. I assumed it would be stiffer/jarring from what I've read at the top setting. It's not...at least for me. I compared it to the roads I always drive before/after install and it soaks up washboard and larger hits perfectly. It's honestly on par with stock even with the bigger tires. I promise I'm not just saying that to be happy with my expensive decision...I honestly am surprised how it's a perfect balance between firm/planted and soft enough at the same time. It's truly awesome.

Anyway, hopefully I post this correctly with the pic and if anyone has any questions about this setup please reach out. I looked at just about every price point/combo out there and for what I wanted in terms of looks and value this is a great option.

Nice! Running 285/75 Duratracs on TRD Fox suspension has been the perfect OEM+ setup for me.

I have very similar set up on my 2017 CMOR. 6112/5160 but went with deaver leaf pack for additional payload capacity. I'm running 285/75/18 Atturo Trailblades (i'll be going back to duratracs)

I had the diff drop put in. But take a look at this video before installing. May not need. I didn't but it's already in there.

How is your setup holding up? Looking at doing almost the exact same thing. Already have the 6112/5160 combo, just waiting on tires. How is your alignment? Gas mileage?

6112/5160 have been on my truck since March 2023, they did the alignment and sad to say, have not had it checked, but I will as soon as hunting season is over. I do not daily drive my truck. It's only for hunting/fishing/camping. Probably have at least half a dozen trips on rutted out dirt roads since install. Similar amount of road trips fishing, and having to haul 3-6 large coolers full of tuna/yellowtail home. The ride is noticeably better than stock, even when loaded. Not huge, but you will notice it hits bumps and driveways a little more plush. The "lift" was noticeable right after getting it done. I'm assuming it's settled but I did not measure it before/after so I can't tell you if it's sagging or stayed same. Still looks fine and the clearance into my garage is still same, so not sure it's "settled" or dropped any. If you load your truck heavy, I do recommend the deaver leaf pack. Was not expensive but I think it added either 500 or 1000 lbs of extra payload. I have had to use my hitch cargo basket with my 150 qt cooler for fishing, camping and even the large cooler for kids school events. I'm the "soccer mom" dad who happens to have a truck, so a lot of hauling.
