I'm starting my install this weekend with a package I got from Tech 12V. My truck is a 2018 SR5 Crewcab with a non-JBL system. I'm adding new door speakers and I'm not sure what to do with the tweeters on the rear doors. Are they really needed? If yes, where did you mount them? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Is yours a 2008 or 2018 (below your info it says 2008).

On my 2017 there is a spot for the tweeters on the plastic door panel. I just used a couple strips of adhesive sound deadener and taped to to the backside of the panel.

If yours doesn't have that, then i would just hot glue it next to the 6" speaker. You will want the tweeter.

You won't notice the tweets in the rear. Do you have any up front now?

James should have sent you coaxial 2way rear door speakers.
Our double cabs don't have tweeters in the rear.

If you wanted to use your 2-way component in the rear, just drill a hole somewhere and mount the tweeters in the rear door panel.

This is where they are mounted in a crew max..

    ^ Or this....:D

I bought JBL door sails for the front for my 2 way components in my non-JBL DC.

@Riskyguy I don't know what front speakers and/or dash speakers you ended up with.
But with a decent set of front door components, you may not even need the dash speakers.
I ended up disconnecting all 3 of mine.

    Good luck.

It's a 2018. Can't figure out how to change that in my profile.
