Once you do the Screen Mod and clean out all that debris, I would give the box and vents a good blast of something like this. Mice are dirty little bastards.

Thanks for this most important reminder, and I should have noted. I did this “mass cleanup” wearing nitrile gloves. I was going to make some calls and see if some auto detail places offer sanitizing services.

Mouse Blocker keeps mice 100% out of my deer lease trailer, before they crawled All over it, disgusting since we all know they have no bladder, constant pissing and shitting, uggg.

I use 2 of these, one at each end of the trailer, not one mouse poop anywhere left alone for months at a time.

About $100 on Amazon, there are larger versions for a garage also. There are 12V and 120V versions, the 12V turn off as voltage drops. Luck.

Another thing to check while you're going through this infestation is the engine Air box, they love to nest in there as well. You can make a screen to keep them out of there also. Good luck.

Repositioned traps and started second round of foggers in the shop. Will report back and see if we can check some of these other parts of the truck, guys.

Zero hits from last night. :fingerscrossed: Going to see if I can talk my wonderful spouse into helping with some of these magnificent mods… thanks so much, guys for the links and ideas.

I think for today, I’ll see if I can talk her into helping drop the spare to make sure my forest friends haven’t started a collection there.

Take care of those shoulders, my friends! These surgery recoveries can be a mental challenge if you’re not much of a couch potato. :annoyed:

I had had a nest in the intake for the variator on my side by side. I don't know if one crawled in and got stuck and died or got sucked in but at some point it became a fine pink mist that didn't get discovered until the stench.

Didn't mythbusters do an episode about getting the smell of decomp out of a car? I think they used a bunch of old Corvettes and dead pigs determined you should probably just burn it.

Damn that was a serious infestation in that filter. I fortunately didn't have that issue when I found a mouse in my truck. I was able to catch him with a spring trap and did the mod on the open area that goes to the cabin air filter and have not had any since. I also bought some stuff on Amazon that helps keep them away with a smell they don't like but is pleasant to humans. Been fortunate so far. Hope what I have done continues to keep the mice at bay. Good luck to you. Check my post I did awhile back, it has the mod that you can do if you have not completed it yet

I had one in my F150 last year. Bit though a fuel injection wire. They like to have hang out spots in different places.

I happened to have some old cans of pepper spray and sprayed some on the wiring harness and few other places they were nesting up. Also the underbody spray film in other places where they need to climb across from the tires, frame, and such. It worked for me.

Best thing to do is block the firewall....Well,I can tell you what doesn't work....Had to yank my intake not once but twice.after the second time I filled it up with natural repellant, no problems or lingering odor yet. After being attacked twice I found the bags that I had filed with moth balls and bags filled with bhut jolokia(ghost pepper) flakes used as nesting material.

Man, that sounds awful. Seems I got very, very lucky. It sounds like after screening the firewall, regularly changing out peppermint oil pads is the way to go. I’m also trying to see if there’s a way I can put motion and/or sound detection under there so I would have some indication of activity.
