T55 OR package?

I saw this Tundra down in FL today... color matched and blacked out, with T55 lettering. Is this some sort of regional thing? Never seen one of these up in the mid Atlantic.

SR5 TSS just consist of wheel and tire package with running boards. Maybe black emblem’s

 

I called Toyota of Orlando and they had no clue. The best thing they could come up with was Toyota Safety Sense, but I doubt thats it LOL

You can buy these decals online so maybe someone just added the sticker? Not sure why its so hard to find online.

TSS are a dime a dozen from n Southwest Texas, TRD OR is best. Yes it’s Toyota Sport Series..

 

My 2014 Tacoma was a TSS an it was also 2wd.

 

at least SET using an acronym that isnt used by toyota unlike GST using TSS and toyota using TSS for toyota safety sense.

also a TSS package for GST is like 5k markup on a SR5 since they use it as a base model. you end losing money and GST makes money two fold since they sell the tires and wheels off from the factory and still up charge you for new wheels and tires.

 

in the defense of the GST, they've been using TSS as a package YEARS before Toyota released the TSS (toyota safety sense) on their trucks in 2018

 

true, think it came out way in early 2010's, from what i can tell the earliest i can find a mention was a 2012 prius with a tss package.

but i would have thought after toyota usa came out with the TSS safety system, gst would have renamed it sometihng else to not cause confusion. but i digress, they probably want them to get confused so they can add tss to a vehicle to upcharge them saying you wanted tss, so we gave you the tss package knowing tss (toyota version) is free with the vehicle.

from what i can tell gst tss is between $2800 and $5000 upcharge.

 

After much negotiation and telling them I just wanted a base crewmax 4x4, they threw it in for free.

 

Oh my God!! $4,300 for wheels, floormats, and an exhaust tip?! Those must be some REALLY nice stickers on the bed.

 

Don't forget, you also get unpainted handles, mirror caps and tailgate spoiler. It's basically a WT/fleet look for more money than a sr5.

 

Probably nothing. It is a distributor package added after it leaves Toyota manufacturing plant.
