Cost of track brackets.

Trying to figure out cost of a shell. Got a quote with the whole rack system installed; tracks, towers and cross bars (Yakima). Wondering if anyone has a ballpark idea for just the tracks. No one open today to call.

 

I would say if you're going to have the tracks installed that you should probably get the cross bars that go with them only because sometimes at least with Thule they change designs of things and then it is hard to find the older parts if you end up needing them later on down the line. If you're trying to save money you can order it without the track system and then install a track system yourself later on, any place that sells the shells will also gladly install a track system later if you want.

 

Only wanting the tracks as I am going a different route than the Yakima towers and crossbars. Dealer quoted me $575 for everything and just trying to get an idea what just the tracks installed would cost.

 

The Thule tracks are about $200 not sure about Yakima but probably similar.

 

Yep, i'd say similar.

When i had my last truck, i had them install the tracks with the towers and cross bars. For the cost they were charging, it was cheaper than buying everything. When i bought the topper for this truck, i just had them install the tracks, i reused the yakima mounts, towers and bars.
