I'm asking mainly about the 1UZ, but since the 1,2 and 3UZ are fairly similar, figured I'd start here. I took my Sc400 to a local shop, may take it another shop, for a leaking power steering pressure hose. The whole front end of the engine is pretty much covered in ATF fluid, and I've had the car up on ramps while I was trying to remove the pressure hose to replace it. From what I understood, they didn't want to do it, but they did an inspection and stated I needed a water pump as it was leaking and a front crank seal, as they're both leaking.

How can I verify this? Like I've stated I've had it on ramps with parts removed up until yesterday when I decided to take it in. I didn't see any type of leak coming from the engine nor stains on the ground with the exception from the transmission pan seal which let go a month ago. Additionally, I haven't gotten a response in club Lexus, so I'm asking here as well.

Hit the front of the engine with foaming engine degreaser and a hose. Let it dry, then run it and reinspect for leaks.

For what it's worth, this stuff works awesome, and I know Auto Zone has it in stock almost universally across all 50 states: https://www.griotsgarage.com/engine-cleaner/

I talked @FirstGenVol into picking some up after his trip to Sedona a few week back and I think I made a convert. I've been slowly working across brands as they come out with new stuff and that's about the best I've found yet.
