So I am familiar with the “dont change your transmission fluid if it’s way overdue and never been done before” but what about transaxle and differential?

I have a 2010 4x4 Tundra with 183k on it and it has no records of trans or diff fluid changes. I’m going to do the drain and fill 4qts on the transmission, but what about the diffs and transaxle? I want to change them but am wondering if they could suffer issue with changing them so late?

The person I bought the vehicle from only had it for a year and a half and didn’t change the fluids. I’ve had the truck since December and the only issue I feel is waiting to shift into 2nd when cold.

    Thanks

Change it all. Don't listen to the nay-sayers!

I change my diff fluid every 30K.
I didn't change my trans fluid until 190K (no record of it being done prior. I bought the truck in 2017 with 150K)
My truck didn't come from the factory with the tow package, so I added the thermostat on the puck, a cooler, and an inline filter. Then did 4 drain/fills. My truck shifts so much better now. (It didn't shift bad before, but it really is seamless again).

I've only got about 2K miles on it since, but as long as you don't flush the trans, I'll always be advocate for servicing your vehicle!

I would agree with @07 Tundie I had earlier service for mine, due to TSB replacements, just recently started to draining and filling the transmission at 220k
