I picked this thing up because my Tundra needed a little work. Unbeknownst to me, it would become my daily for going on 6 months now because Toyota can't get parts.

1986 Pickup with an original dealer-installed Custom Cab. 5" lift, currently sitting on 35s, 5VZ with the TRD supercharger, R151 trans(?) with a jshift xfer case, 85 pickup rear axle with elocker, solid 4runner front axle, 4.56s, 90s FJ steering, some other cool stuff... The bed is bobbed so far I think the rear shackle hangers are relocated. Originally from AZ, built up in UT, and it's been in New England the past few years. Everything has around 170k on it. Definitely a super unique ride and I'm lucky to be part of it's history.

I picked it up not running (halfway thru a timing belt job) and sitting for ~2 years. Found a buddy who would lend me his trailer AND truck to get it the 150 miles back home and got to work. Pulled the bed, pulled and cleaned the tank, finished the timing, new radiator, tires, steering bits, double cardan rear driveshaft and carrier bearing, standard fluids and tuneup, reinstalled and resealed the windows in the fiberglass, new windshield, shampoo'd the carpet (a million times), full interior detail, custom door cards and visors, dash cover, pretty much touched her everywhere. I've towed my little camper trailer on multiple 500 mile journeys and it's been smooth sailing. Definitely a road trip machine.

Once the Tundra is back from it's 6+ month vacation, the plan is to take it off the road for a little bit and move on to stage two. Supercharger is probably due for a rebuild, I can't seem to chase out some evap and cat codes so maybe just delete all that, new leaf springs, locker for the front, maybe add a 7th injector, and a full interior gut and reupholster. Gonna try to turn it into an actual sleeper cab / overland type rig.

Huge props to the guy who built it. I was a little hesitant to buy someone else's project but my buddy who knows a lot about early yotas came with me to buy it and said "This unicorn isn't a project, it's a product." That statement has held up because this build is solid. The wiring is tight, the welds are flawless, Brad, if you ever read this man, great job.
