Just on the front page I see cruise control issues, broken drivers seat, tonneau covers rattling, Push button start not working…. What’s the deal with these things?

Are we just chalking it up to “oh it’s a new model so they have to work out the kinks”??

People have been reporting the problems and I think Toyota has been responding positively on the more critical ones. There are a number of TSB items that have been released so I think they are acknowledging the complaints.

For example, the wastegate issue that was on the 22s. I haven't heard more about this being a problem with the 23s.

Regarding the tri-fold tonneau that has the possibility of flying off, I submitted a case with Toyota brand engagement and my dealer refunded me $1300.

I still think the interior quality is not as good as my japan-made 4Runner.

No issues for me at 6300 miles, except for a couple wrinkles in the rear window seals. I'll have those looked at one of these days, but not critical.

OTOH, there are "quirks" where things work as designed but maybe not to your liking. Like the infotainment system operation. But that's a whole other thing.

I called up toyota brand engagement center to open a case and took their instructions on how to work with the dealer to get the refund.

It took several phone calls since the dealer initially denied the possibility of a refund. But toyota called the dealer directly after my conversation with the dealer, which propelled the conversation forward.

There are lots of resources on this thread https://www.tundras.com/threads/2022-2023-tonneau-cover-recall.121202/

    I hope this helps.

There is certainly some great information on here but I also think complaints are shouted louder than praise.
I admit I rushed into my purchase because I got a great deal for trade in on my Tacoma. But it was ultimately my decision to purchase a Toyota product. There are definitely things I love about the truck and a few things that drive me crazy. I feel like I have a loud driver door, not wind noise, just loud, and I have a noise that happens around 37 mph that I can not for the life of me figure out.
If I could figure those two things out I’d be very satisfied with my purchase.

Only real problem I had was done by the shop that installed my lift. 2022 platinum picked up on Feb of 2022 and now with 28k on clock.

Go to the gen2 page and read the topics. Are we going to just chalk up those problems to being old vehicles!? First year problems, old vehicle problems, user error, everything has its problems.

I have a 2023 (Mar 23 build date) and the only issue I have had is the seat creak. I will get it fixed when I take it in for it's next checkup. I love the truck and have no buyers regrets.

I view all the forums I'm a part of as places to ask questions when I do have an issue or look at what mods people have done to their trucks. If I based my views of a product strictly based on comments from a small minority I would buy nothing. I guarantee you most people who buy Tundras don't know about this site, plan to join this site, or care about this site. I've had a few minor issues with my truck but nothing major. Probably the same amount of issues that I had with the '19 F250 I traded to buy it.

I have a 2022 SR5 TRDOR CrewMax. Love it. Zero issues. Picked it up the first week of October 2022. Just shy of 10K miles. Keep in mind that a forum like this is where people tend to bring their problems to see if anyone else is experiencing the same. So by its nature, you'll see lots of issues.

The biggest issue for a lot of us is the disappointment after having great Toyotas for years. We see the down hill slide.
