I'm new to this forum and I've never owned a Tundra. I am however looking a buying a 2023 1794 TRD within the next month. Question, since this is an off road package truck why isn't there any tow hooks on the front bumper like Ford or GMC has? And I have noticed there is no 4X4 auto mode, which the other American made trucks have, is this an issue, or can you just run it in 4 high? I live in the PNW so we have all kinds of driving issues that a 4X4 auto mode would accommodate? Please let me know

I only used the locker in my 4Runner once, to function check it, and I was off road almost every week.

It's easier to switch between 2hi and 4hi with a manual shifter, but you'll get used to toggling the vehicle in and out of 4wd as you need to.

As the above poster said, tow hooks would have to be added aftermarket. I like the stealth bumpers as they don't change the overall appearance much, while giving you the option for a winch as well as points for shackles. I never needed front tow hooks on my 4Runner, either, though.

I thought the 2023 Toyota Tundra Hybrid TRD Pro was the off road model?

Just to clarify the Tundra is the only American made Truck when you're looking at Toyota, Ford, Ram, GMC/Chevy (yeah the Japanese company is the only manufacturer making them in the US)......the other big three are made outside the US. I love the irony of that. And Yes super dumb there are no tow/recovery hooks up front.....sooooo dumb and the new Tacoma has them on all models but not the Tundra yet. Just wait too there is a tailgate release on the key fob that will open your tailgate while your keys are in your pocket and if you're lucky it won't hit anything and damage its self or another car (will have this disabled at my first service at the dealership). The auto 4 hi I don't miss at all, if you need 4wd put it in 4wd then click it off when you don't need it (its on the fly so just click it off without stopping) and generally if its slick enough to need it you shouldn't have any worry about it being on while driving on the street. You can run in 4 hi all you want but it will kill your gas mileage and turning radius and in most cases won't cause any damage if you drive reasonably. Absolutely love my truck but there are some oddities and I've had them all before this one (Tacoma, 2 Silverado's, F250, Ram 1500).
