Looking for a second opinion on a timing chain job. This is on a 2010 Toyota Sequoia 5.7, and I had originally timed it incorrectly. I started it up and it shook like crazy so I tore it all back down again.

Here is a video with the new timing chains, guides and tensioners all fully installed and ready to be put back together. I'm really afraid of closing it up just to find out that I messed something up again.

After I shot this video, I turned the engine over 29 crankshaft rotations (might have been 28) and the timing marks lined back up. I did about another 15 or so rotations (wasn't counting) and the secondary timing chains lined back up together again. I think this is correct, but I would like to get some more eyes on it, please.

Why did you replace the chain?

From the video, it looks correctly aligned, would've been nice to see you give it the 15 or so turns to verify everything is aligned correctly in the end. I'm no mechanic, or technician.

Honestly, I shouldn't have messed with the chains. The timing chain tensioner for Bank 1 failed and I was getting a ton of chain slap. The static chain guide on bank 1 was about 75% worn through (plastic was completely gone, 75% through the metal) from the chain. I bought a kit with the guides, tensioners and chains and decided to just replace it all. I wish I would have replaced everything but the chains.

You're not wrong, but it would have made for a very long video. After I shot the video, I turned the engine over 28 times and confirmed that the timing chain marks line up again, so I am feeling pretty confident unless anyone sees anything I missed.

If you spun it that many times and it still lines up I'd put it together. That is always the positive way to make sure it's aligned in my experience since all the slack and tension is taken up and the chain is where it wants to be.
