Similar question maybe ... END Of month trying to get a deal ... comparing three very different options but one of them in the middle of pricing is this 2023 SR5 Tundra.

Received quote of $50,600 before Tax and Title, - in NJ so it's going to be friggin 6.625% in tax. this is coming in at $2k less than MSRP which is $52,898 on this Tundra SR5 with the convenience package and 32 gallon tank ...
SR5 Painted BSM Mirror with Dual VVT-i, 389 hp/479 lb-ft SX SX Package - - 10-Spd Auto Trans with Sequential Shift Includes color-keyed door handles, black - Drive Mode Select with TOW/HAUL Modes overfenders, black fabric seats, 18-inch - 4WDemand Part-Time 4WD w/Elec Controlled alloy wheels, and SX decal Transfer Case and Auto Limited Slip Diff
SR5 Convenience Package - - Multi-Link Rear Suspension Includes Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Front - Tow Rcvr Hitch w/Integ 4/7-Pin Connector
SAFETY & CONVENIENCE and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic - Toyota Safety Sense 2.5: Pre-Collision Braking, and large fuel tank (32.2 Sys w/Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed gallons) Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane 7T. Bed Extender Departure Alert w/Steering Assist, 3J. Black Emblem Overlay Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High 2T. All Weather Floor Liners Beams, Road Sign Assist T7. Tailgate Insert - Black - Trailer Brake Cont & Trailer Sway Cont.

FWIW, the other two options are:

Used 2020 Tundra SR5 Off-Road (super white) with clean Carfax with 33,000 miles on it. and 7 year CPO warranty. which is $47,000 before TTL.

Other off Toyota brand option is a
Chevy Silverado 1500, LT Trim with Z71 package, 2022 dealer loaner with 5,600 miles, MSRP is $58,900 offered today for $53,000 before TTL.

The new 2023 Tundra is in the middle on price.
And the only one with PROVEN reliability is the used 2020 Tundra with the V8.

And honestly most of the indecisiveness comes from the damn cost of these vehicles and the interest rates.

Any thoughts? I have a couple hours to make this call. lol.

I would test drive the two Toyotas, and see which fits you better? In my eyes, paying just $3,600 more gets you a brand new truck makes this a no brainer. Most 22+ owners are very happy with their truck including myself.

If cost/rates are high and you don't NEED a new truck right now, don't rush. Wait for rates to decrease or look for a lower priced 2.5gen, it might have higher mileage but won't matter as much because they are proven to go the distance.

Good luck on whatever you decide!

Good point and appreciate the input @ToyoMon - - the only pressure is from us really - juggling one vehicle and wanting to use our travel trailer ...
Gotta get busy living - but yea we've been thinking of trying to wait until later this year.. Thanks

    Your decision!

Personally I would never go used. Don't pay that much for someone's problem that they traded in.

The 2023 Tundra sounds like a nice ride!

Can't wait to see how this turns out!

I recently paid $40,500 before taxes and fees for a 2020 Tundra SR5 with TRD package. I think $47k for that 2020 Tundra might be a lil too much imo.

the best time is ususally during toyota-thon in nov-jan
