Looks to me like you'd make a killing setting up your own body shop specializing in larger vehicles.

These are the guys that have my truck atm. They have a whole youtube channel calling out bad insurance companies on jobs they do. I'm just trying to maintain sanity, which is super stressful, and let this play out step by step. Documenting it here along the way. Because my next step is contacting the auto lawyer the shop recommends and letting them fight it out. he does pro bono work. And I just want this over with. Fair market value for truck. Put a branded title on the truck, which it DESERVES! State farm can still make a damn good penny on the back end with this truck, and how little mileage it has. I seem em on Copart all day every day

Understood, sometimes you just have to step back.

I hope it resolves as simply and beneficially for you as possible.

    Good luck!

Not sure what state you are in, but ALL Insurance Company's hate to get a letter from their State Insurance Board. Send your State Insurance Board an email, letter, or call them and tell them that State Farm is "NOT acting in Good Faith". Most states guarantee you can take your vehicle to whomever you want to have the repairs done. The comments above show State Farm is not acting in good faith.

I sued them back in the 80's. I had a chevy truck stolen. The thieves ran it so hard they threw a rod out the side of the block on their way to Mexico with it. I had to trailer it back from near Corpus Christi and did the repairs myself. They did not reimburse me for the costs of recovery and insisted that all I needed was a head gasket. I had to get an attorney, then they submitted and paid for my costs and the attorney fees. I've never even considered State Farm again.

Colorado. And Nylunds has suggested doing this after I exhaust my other efforts. Which we're getting dangerously close to

Received call from insurance at end of the day. Let it go to voicemail and emailed my reply.

    Hi,
I received the message that State Farm will not pay for any of the costs Nylunds has for storage nor the estimate. I'll speak with Nylund's about those charges tomorrow. However, the truck was dropped off there before I was told that State Farm wouldn't pay for any of said storage...
I'm also concerned that the only other shop that will even accept my truck, and is even able to work on the truck, Prime Time Autobody, who is number one on State Farm's preferred list, stated that they also only use OEM parts for repair. So now I'm being asked to bear the burden of storing a truck for another 4 months, at a residence in a city that has ordinances about storing wrecked vehicles in front of my house. And on top of that, it's going to a State Farm shop that also says they use OEM parts.
I feel like the least State Farm can do is pay Nylund's for the fare work they've done. Because now I KNOW every single shop I've called outside of State Farm uses OEM parts. They will all have the same quotes. Because none of the cheap place will even accept my vehicle to repair!
This is basically forcing me to use State Farm preferred network, and waiting around for them.
    Thanks,

Wow. This whole ordeal has been a complete shit show.

You are more than welcome to store your truck for months at my property if need be. I have no HOA/ordnances. Cats might climb on the roof though....

It completely is. And I appreciate the offer! I'd rather keep pushing back on my insurance at this point.

Also, my cat knows no boundaries when it comes to finding a good place to sit outside...

That car hits hard. The 4K watts are going to the 5 subs. The other two are powering the doors/dash. It's insane.

What insurance company are you looking at next? Every time I even consider moving from USAA, some story like this changes my mind. We just sent out a quote request for 25 companies for insurance. The best quote we received was still 2500.00 per year more than what we have now.

Colorado is getting out of hand.

Nylunds is going to set me up with their insurance broker. Said I'll probably pay more, but the broker is good at working with your budget. But said the service will be way better. Will update more on that once the process starts

You’re noticing huge increases too? My home/auto bundle went from $3200 to $4600 this year from last. Going to shop around again, that seemed insane to me.

Hmm. We saw a 55% increase from the county assessed value on our home. Some people in the neighborhood saw double or more. Nuts.

My house appraisal for taxes this year is at $517k, up from $349k the previous year! Not even Zillow has me up that high. I disputed the valuation online with the county assessor's office

Being advised by shop now to contact lawyer

I would have figured more in Denver. Our county said ours is worth 1,025,000.00. if that's the case...I'm selling soon.

Does the shop have any recommendations on any particular firms to use?

Technically SE Aurora. Almost not in Aurora at all. One block away from Centennial. I bought in early 2013. If I can sell for $600k, it's gonna get sold!

Ya they recommended Matt Osborne with Ramos Law, who specializes in these cases.

The reason why State Farm keeps denying things, is because apparently, me as their customer, they say they will only pay for "non-OEM parts, and will not pay for work done up to OEM standards because it includes work unnecessary for the repairs"

    @M3Tundra-JK

IMO it is time to way your options:

    1. Hire an attorney with hopes that they do not charge but win against State Farm and you get what you want with no extra $ spent.

    2. Estimate how much you "might" have to pay an attorney and use that amount toward the difference between what State Farm will pay and the OEM parts cost.

    3. Take it somewhere else that State Farm is suggesting.

In the end, WE all feel your pain. BE DONE WITH STATE FARM, FOREVER!

The truck was hit and run, you have absolutely no fault, your insurance needs to make the truck as close to as it was before the accident. I fail to see how they can get away with not making you whole.

    EDIT:

Also, (I have rental coverage) this teaches me to have rental coverage as they would be much less likely pulling this crap if they were paying for your rental.

Agreed! But, apparently their rental coverage is shit too! They only provide, something like $40 a day, up to $350 and then it's on the customer. State Farm just SUCKS!

I've started the process of speaking with an attorney. They are reviewing my case atm.

For a long repair like that, you can almost put a down payment on a good used "commuter" car if it takes like 3 months.

Pro-tip, probably not applicable to OP: if you do not have an extra vehicle, consider changing your rental car coverage. When I was hit in my Sequoia, it took several months to get into a shop. I used MY insurance to get a rental but exhausted the max rental limit, I had to use the at fault's party to extend my rental coverage. After it was all said and done, I was unaware I could've upped my rental coverage for only <$1 extra per month. I would've had a couple extra weeks. Considering today's state of slow repairs, I have the max coverage offered.

I have State Farm, and always have, since 15 years old. My policy is actually older than me, I somehow acquired it when swapping vehicles with my mom in my teenage years. My current agent has gone to bat for me twice in two years. I've been incredibly lucky at having AMAZING agents where ever I move/live. When my Sequoia was repaired, the repairs were absolute dog shit in terms of quality. Paint drips, many imperfections, they clear coated my windshield, left my vehicle with no window for an unknown amount of time, etc. I was not comfortable letting the original shop fix the repairs so I wanted a new shop to fix everything. My agent looked at my Sequoia and was on my side. I ended up getting EVERYTHING redone at a different shop and SF provided me with another rental. The second fix was damn near perfect and satisfied. For my second recent-ish claim... We got smashed with a horrible hail storm, I had to get my agent to go to bat for us again. Their 3p adjuster low balled the repair on an enclosed trailer roof repair. I got my own estimates and gave them to my agent who was able to fight claims for me and get me double the original quoted repair costs. We have never considered shopping all of our insurance products around because our agents have been great. Find yourself a great agent and office manager, with any insurance company, it makes life easy. YMMV.

Wow....my agent straight up said, "... I would suggest reaching back out to your claims adjuster and explaining the situation.
We do not handle claims in the agencies unfortunately, so we do not have any extra pull with the claims department as we are not adjusters.

YMMV. Mine escalated to managers and made things happen. I dont know if its worth it but maybe find a different agent.
