    Completed the break-in period after three days of ownership.

    Now the truck is doing what we meant for it to do… Camping!

    Averaged 21.9 mpg from the house to the campsite going 60–70 mph.

    The Minnesota state bird (mosquitos) are in healthy population and are in full attack mode! I actually inhaled a few of them while on our evening walk.

    Tomorrow, if I don’t get lazy, we’ll swim, kayak and fish.

    All packed and off to the lake.

    What bed cover would you suggest? I’m thinking of the fas-top traveler combo (tonneau + soft top)
    What do you think?

    What’s wrong with stock?
    I hear the OEM tri-folds are good.

    I also want a rail system that doesn’t interfere with the digital rear camera.

    Made it to the lake. The air quality is so bad though so we’re just going to stay in the shade while Arthur does his thing.

    2 at a time!

    We used to camp not far from your location in Itasca State park. I was always worried as a kid the state bird could in fact fly away with us. :rofl:

    Looks like a great time!

    With the headwind and faster traffic flow, got 19.2mpg on the way back home. Still pretty good. I think I’m going to keep the stock tire size on this vehicle. Might just get Coopers or KOs in the same size, depending on how these OEM Wildpeaks perform in the winter.

    We traveled about 130 each way. Speeds were 80% 60-70 mph.

    For fuel average:
    • 21.9 mpg: house -> 1 stop for supplies -> state park
    • 19.2 mpg: state park -> lake -> house
    Combined average was 20.5 mpg.

    The numbers include stops for coffee, getting lost and turning around, and driving around looking for a parking spot to my liking

    Thanks! Yes, we had a great time. Even with lots of pollen and mosquitos, it was a blast.

    We all feel this way today.

    He really is a good boy. Today he’s just walking along side me while I ride my bike. Sometimes i take my unicycle.

    His leash is tucked in his vest, in case I need to quickly grab him. But he understands rules on the road like stopping at intersections, walking either on my left or right side, and ignoring dogs, rabbits, birds and other animals (for the most part :)).

    He's just 17 months old.
