Anyone seen these before?

Uncle gave me a box of em this past weekend. He said they splay out in a star pattern upon impact.

 

Looks like they have been around for a few years. Alot of youtube videos.

 

He had 2 boxes for many years

 

I think they were marketed as competition to the black talons.

 

Yeah, they do this:

 

I used to carry those in my Kahr P9 Covert. 124 grain +P. Grouped about 2 inches high and a tight group it was, centered perfectly.

Saw a youtube video by "TN9Outdoors" where those did not expand in ballistic gel.

Retired those after that and replaced with Speer Gold Dot 124 grain +P.

Retired that handgun about 2008? and replaced with Kahr CW 45 stoked with Speer Gold Dot 230 grain standard pressure. Not really concerned if a .45 doesn't expand.
