Hello everyone, I’m extremely stressed right now because I got towed from a spot that wasn’t marked as a tow zone and it took two hours and $200 to get my truck back. Well they used a flat bed to tow my truck and when I got in it, the abs, traction control, brake, and collision lights were on. Additionally, the 4wd low and high lights are blinking and it won’t go into them. It drove fine home however all of these lights are on and I have no driver aids. I tried disconnecting the battery and letting it sit but this did not work. Tomorrow I am going to try and clear the codes and see if that works. This is extremely frustrating and if anyone could help it would but much appreciated. Thank you!

Update: I checked the abs wires and every wire/ line where the tow truck touched my truck. Nothing. No sign of damage anywhere. I left my battery disconnected overnight and everything is still going crazy on the dash.

Check the ABS/Wheel sensors, maybe they damaged the wiring when they hooked it up. Good luck.

Somewhere in this forum is a code breaker chart showing what all the lights mean. Just a guess but I think something got pinched during the rollback ride. Get your dirty duds on and crawl underneath.

Now to why you were towed...Was it a no parking zone?

Yep wheel speed sensors is my guess as well. A wire may have been pinched or stretched.

Thank you everyone, I’ll look at my abs sensors, however I’m still trying to wrap my head around as to why my blindspot and radar isn’t working either.

It was one of the normal parking areas at the beach that are usually free. However, I guess since there was some type of event and they required parking passes. I never saw any signs when I parked or entered but when I was searching for a sign after my truck got towed, I saw this tiny sign at the corner with tiny lettering at the bottom saying “all others will be towed”. Also that sign was constantly being blocked by pedestrians so I never even got to read it. The small black writing under the lot F sign is where it said that. Only sign there and no others. Felt like I got scammed.

New technology requires several inputs to run several different systems. Seems if you lose one on our trucks, it messes with all the others. Welcome to the future. ;)

There’s also that big sign in the background… something to the effect of “parking lot closed for event”. Just sayin’

Let he who has never effed up throw the first insult.

Give the guy a break, he made an error in judgment or perhaps he’s oblivious, regardless he’s human and screwing things up is kind of our collective jam. Either way, Trashing on the guy is not relevant to the issue at hand. He owns his mistake and is asking for help.

I'm not at all trashing on the guy. I'm agreeing the Brazilian butt is hard to miss in the picture. Unfortunately for situations such as this there are little if any standards for the no parking signs and that in my book isn't fair that he got towed.
On a side note I just watched a rear wheel drive Buick get pulled up on a rollback. The operator reached under the rear with a big steel hook and placed it over the rear axle. From my perspective it didn't look like he was even looking where that hook went.

The reason I initially asked about where he was towed was because if it's on a public street and the signs aren't placed just right or don't meet MUTCD standards he might have a recourse to get his towing money back as well as the cost of vehicle repairs.

Ya'll are funny as hell man.

Anyway, I went through and looked at each wheel and every line, nothing pinched, pulled, or out of the ordinary. Of course its the holiday weekend so no one is open so I can get to a good scan tool and I'm kind of sh*t out of luck right now. I'm hoping I just need to reset and calibrate everything with a good scan tool but for now its driving me up a wall.

How far have you driven it? My truck freaked out like this one day when I ran it on jack stands. Needed a couple miles to reset itself.

    I’ve
Hey everyone, I found the issue. Plugged the scan tool in and it sent me to a right wheel open circuit. I did a search before but part of my truck was blocked. Well I’m searching I found the abs wire ripped in the corner. Looks like he threw the hooks right over both my wires and brake lines. Thank you everyone for helping out. I think I might need to get my eyes checked after this whole ordeal.

Finally, I was thinking they should refund me the fee and pay for the new part. Anyone have any advice on how to approach the tow truck company? I don’t want to get the workaround from the company.

I have worked with a large number of tow companies in my business. I never once have had any of them own up to damage. Ever.

More than likely they will tell you to stuff it and or “prove it”.

Good luck and be prepared for a fight.

Good luck. I work with a guy who had his parked car smashed to the tune of thousands by a tow truck. On video. Dragged them to court and has yet to see a dime. Over a year later. Not exactly Fortune 500.

Any chance the wires can be repaired? Not sure if these are shielded or just simple wires. Glad to hear the brake line didn't get smashed.
