    Hi all,

I just got my 2006 Tundra's windshield replaced (original from factory). I believe there was a small black metal strip for the upper windshield molding, but now there's nothing there. I'm curious if anyone knows, or what do you have on yours?

    Thanks,
    Buddy

Reverse this. Please post a picture of what you're talking about, and we can try to help with what's missing, and potentially give you a part number.

Here's what mine looks like (gap or groove between molding and roof):

Here's one with the upper molding strip:

Not much help but when I had mine replaced couple months back, I had bought the OEM piece that goes across the top for them to use. It made it then look like your bottom picture, which is original look.

Personally I do not like the looks of the top picture, not as in looks but in possible water penetration. I would be questioning the installer.

Ditto. I can run down the part number if it's interesting; I just don't know if it's necessary to uninstall the windshield again to install it.

The glass installer I spoke with locally about my Tundra - industry veteran - told me he asks everyone to buy the windshield trims before install so there's no delay, "it just works better with the OEM trims" or similar.
