Dealership and 800 number won’t/can’t help. I traded in another truck to get this 3rd Gen Tundra Platinum Crewmax. The native radio won’t mute when CarPlay is active. So if I have the radio on and use Siri to make a call the radio and the phone are both playing through the speakers.

Toyota says it’s a carrier problem. I explained every other brand car I own works with CarPlay. They said call your carrier. I did. They said call Toyota.

Yea…if the radio is on and I get notified of a text….when I say read text….the text is being read at a low volume and the radio keeps playing…can’t hear anything

Yes the phone call thing is also occurring. So turn off car play? ….a major selling feature is worthless.

Push the big volume button on the dash to mute the music. I know, we shouldn't have to. Toyota has this all screwed up.

Not buying that is isn't a Toyota problem. Like the OP, this is literally the only vehicle I have ever had this CarPlay issue with. I have used CP on maybe 20 different cars, to include GM, Pioneer aftermarket, numerous rentals. Not one issue.

Exactly. They don't want my $. Problem is I have a timeline for vacation trip where GF needs the steps, then upcoming knee surgery where I will need the steps. And there is simply no good information to plan or know if this is going to work out. Such is life. But it is bizarre to be 2 years into a model run and not have product.

When Carplay is talking I can adjust my volume and it doesn't effect the radio volume, just Carplay. Hope this helps.

I just got my Platinum last week. on IOS 16.5 and same issue. Sold my 2008 with Alpine ILX-207 and it never had this problem. I hope it gets fixed soon.
