I have always liked to run the basic steel wheels on my trucks .. I was about to pick up a set from Jegs but have a doubt about the center bore.. They are listed as 4.25" center bore.. would this fit the first gen Tundra?

    https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/681034/10002/-1

    thanks!

    106mm, I've seen some list as 106.1mm

    According to Google:

These specific wheels would not fit a first gen Tundra since they are five lug wheels.

4.25" is about 108mm, many aftermarket wheels use this too. You want a lug-centric wheel with a 6x139.7mm lug pattern.

edit: OP posted an updated six-lug link. It'll fit, but the offset might be an issue with bigger tires at the fenders/ mudflaps.

And to compare, the Raceline wheels I just bought for my truck are 107.9mm hub bore.

Noting @des2mtn's comments above, my only other concern is whether you're currently running 16s on your truck, or 17s. You've given no details about your truck, so it's not clear if there'll be a issue with caliper contact.

Well the truck is a bone stock 2000 tundra TRD Access Cab and at the moment on factory 16's.. I am in the process of updating the suspension and a few things now .. I just ordered an OME lift for it with heavier 2887 springs as i have a brute force fab winch bumper in the garage that is going on, I plan on running 285/75/16's on some steelies if I can find the right fit. Brakes are stock .. and terrible. haha

Hope you're planning on lifting the rear. Those 2887s will put you about 1.5" - 2" higher in the front than the rear if 2WD+V6, and 1"-1.5" higher in the front if 4WD+V8. 2885 would be a better bet with armor, a necessity if you're 2WD.

Make sure you get extended sway links, and have stops ready to compensate for what that OME kit is going to do to your truck. You'll need aftermarket UCA also.

Reference, in case you don't believe me: https://www.tundras.com/threads/ome-3-1-kit-goes-full-extension-with-a-bang-too-fast-why.109151/

This guy ended up having to replace his suspension. OME kits aren't designed for Tundras, and the values most vendors give are for double cabs, which have different geometry and weight.

Shop wisely. Don't trust vendor websites; they often don't know wtf they're talking about, or the differences between a double cab (or Sequoia) and everything else.

I asked about hub rings at a couple local tire shops and apparently they're not recommended, but i dont know why. My aftermarket steelies on the jeep & ranger are lug centric, never given me trouble. But i'd prefer a tight hub centric. Make you have to wiggle it off kinda tight. Especially if i were the type to throw the ugga duggas at it. But i know my studs arent stretched, cause they're socket & extension finger tight first.

I did pick up the kit from firstGenTundras, and selected the 2887 based on their recommendation.. although my truck is a 4wd v8 access cab .. and I assumed with the brute force bumper .. which is a heavy beast along with winch and second battery up front .. it was the right choice .. If it turns out I am wrong, then I will go back and get softer springs .. I am liftting the rear with Icon Add a Leafs.

If you don't get UCA and extended links, you'll run into problems. You'll probably bend your sway links in short order. Without UCA, you'll be lucky to get in alignment.

As long as you're going with rear AAL, you should be fine-ish on level base on what other members have found. Good chance it may end up level-ish at least. I'll be interested to see it. But armor doesn't add much weight.

But to give you another example, other than the last guy with your setup AC/2WD/V8 minus front armor whose OME stuff fucked his shit up, too much lift - here's an AC 2WD V6 with 2885s and 1" rear lift, the 2887 with that extra 5mm will give you another inch-ish up front over what he's got. Josh is great, as are other vendors, but it really seems most vendors don't seem to observe the differences between DC vs RC/AC.

I say run with it. The guy whose stuff I linked in this reply ended up having to pull his struts, remove springs, install new 2884 springs (or maybe 2883? I forget) then reinstall to get down to a normal height. The other AC/4WD/V8 guy I linked in a prior reply basically had to yank all the OME stuff and go with something milder. Again, OME does not make kits for our Tundras. I didn't learn this until later. All that shit is made for Tacos and 4Runners.
