As the title says - When turning left I can hear a clicking or thunking coming from the right side front end; but only on left turns. I know it has to be in the front as I can feel it lightly through the steering wheel. I can't hear or feel it when making right hand turns or driving straight ahead. I haven't put it up on jackstands yet, but I have inspected under the front end with tires on the ground and wheels straight ahead, turned left, and turned right. I haven't seen anything that appears broken or out of place. Its doesn't act like a wheel bearing issue.

If my truck had been 4WD I would have suspected CV joints, but its only a 2WD. I bought the truck new in 2011 and it currently has 176k on the clock. I generally do almost all of the scheduled/routine maintenance, but stumped with this issue. Anyone have any ideas?

    I’d check the following
Ball joints, sway bar links, tie rods, and wheel bearings.

I should add that the noise is only heard while rolling on a left turn, but does not occur when simply turning the wheels left.

Never had to do this with the Tundra, but in other vehicles if you want to check the wheel bearing which is what this sounds like, lift the tire off the ground that the noise is coming from and grab and shake it side to side (like a push/pull at the 3 and 9 o'clock). There should be no play (movement of the wheel). Also ensure your lugnuts are tightened as well or there will be play and may not be the bearing. If there is, it is a wheel bearing, if there is no play, then I would agree with Danny3737 and start to look at the other items he listed out.

When on the road and turning left it is most definitely coming from the RF wheel. I've pretty much ruled out everything but the passenger front wheel bearing, so I have a replacement hub/Koyo bearing assembly ordered and will replace it this weekend. Everything seems tight / no play. The only thing I didn't do was to remove the wheel and then brake pads (which seem to drag when spinning the wheel by hand) so I can listen for bearing noise. At 176k it can't hurt to replace the suspect bearing.

I hope that it all works out well for you. Let us know how it turns out when done.

Replacement hub and bearing installed, and problem is gone. I did feel a bit of grinding in the bearing when rotating the old hub with the brake caliper removed. But what was interesting is what I would call "stretch" and was likely the source of the clicking or clunking. The original was so worn that it seemed to have pulled outward (stretched) and was likely very close to complete failure. The cluncking probably occurred when the bearing slid in/out during turns. When the exact replacement assembly was set flat on the bench side-by-side with the old, there was a difference of about 3/8". I didn't think to take pics but the replacement fit perfectly and the issue is resolved. That said I plan to go ahead and replace the driver front hub as well very soon.
