Whatever this forum told me to do
How does the US enforce violations against trucks from Mexico?

They have to follow all the trucking regulations of the US when they enter. They are supposed to be a vetted company that has permission to cross and conduct interstate business. Pretty much, so you want to conduct business here, well here are the rules. You would probably be surprised of the amount of Mexican owned companies that are Texas and California plated that run trucking outfits in the US.

Basically the same thing if a us company goes into Mexico or Canada. The vehicle regs are pretty much the same. Log book hours will differ somewhat but when they enter they have to use what is standard in the US.

And a lot of Google translator gets used to get thru a inspection.

so, Mexican trucks can be fined/impounded just like US trucks?

I'm harping on this because....We have a shit-ton go thru our place & those trucks are clearly sub-par to US Trucks.

Yep can be placed out of service just like anything here. Just have to have a person that's certified to do that.

Now there are plenty of god awful looking trucks that are mechanically perfect underneath, and I've seen show quality trucks with missing brakes and worse. Just depends on where the money is spent, looks or function.
