Hey y'all, just wondering about a few things:

    1. Is lubricating the hitch receiver on the truck something to prep for towing and to prevent rust and metal-on-metal?
    2. What kind of lubricant is best or has worked out in your situation?

Sorry if it's a dumb question but I'm just trying to gather as much information as possible. Thanks!

I don't because I am lazy and I know I will rub my pants on it afterwards, but yes, it is not a bad idea to grease the ball. Reese and other manufacturers make a specific white grease for that, but most any grease can be used in a pinch.
This can be used on the receiver tube also.

Grease the ball, grease the trailers electrical connection, grease the axles. Part of the prep.

Yes, with axles the priority if you have to pick one, then just clean your hands on the ball.
Electrical connections probably a dielectric grease, not the same as the ball grease.
