I was removing my factory bumper today when I noticed this damage to my receiver. I sustained some trail damage a while back to the driver bumper cap. I was departing off a steep ledge when the bumper cap smashed down hard on the ledge. I thought the damage was isolated to the bumper cap only, but it appears the energy transferred to this area where the bumper cap mounts to. The future problem I see is that when I go to mount a new bumper, the mounting holes aren't going to line up. I wouldn't think this bend would compromise the overall structural integrity of the receiver, but it might just be better to replace the entire receiver? Hopefully I could find one cheap from a scrapyard etc.

    Thanks

I’d be more concerned with this than the side. Is the section marked deformed from this incident or does it match the other side?

That indentation is identical on both sides, but thanks for pointing that out!

It doesn't look like structural integrity has been compromised, but yes, it might be difficult to line up the new bumper pieces if the mounting points are out of line.
