Hello, everyone I'm new here, I am a loyal Tundra owner I have a 2000 Tundra SR5 original owner that has 600,000 miles on it and runs like the day I bought it. So I. bought this 2015 Tundra Crew Max new as well. It runs great never been in the shop with the exception of the front and rear brake pads and tire of course. I'm to see if anyone has had this issue. I started using the TRD oil filter about 2 years ago and started having an issue with the VVT raddle. During the last 2 oil changes, I noticed the filter was trying to collapse. This leads me to believe it was starving the engine for oil at 4100 miles. I changed back to the original oil filter and the issue went away. The truck has 222000 miles on it its awesome, has anyone here had an issue like this? =====

Does the center tube of the TRD filter have holes or louvres?

I have not bought any TRD filters lately, but several of the filter manufacturers seem to be using the louvered center tubes now. If the louvers aren’t open, then oil won’t flow except via bypass. I have seen some Wix and Purolator filters like this.

    Too many, but not enough....
I would just stick with what got you this far already. Those trd branded stuff has never convinced me its any better than regular Toyota items.

Edit: exception being trd sway bar

Stick with oem filter, it’s affordable and simple. No need for paying extra for trd branded.

I never heard of such issues and i'm concerned because i just picked up a set of 4.
Anyone else experienced any issues with TRD filters?

The TRD filter is suppose to be very good if not one of the best.....the only filter that compares to it is made by Amsoil.
Very good video of TRD oil filter below:

Feel free to post pictures and stuff on your 600k first gen in the first gen section. We'd love to see it over there. Would be one of the highest mileage ones over there.
    Welcome!
