Interesting Article came into my inbox so sharing.
Which vehicles are the most likely to reach 250k miles.
Its all Trucks at the top.
I think interesting if you are looking at long term ownership or buying used.
Average chance of making it to 250k miles was 11%.

F350 ranked highest followed by Tundra and Land Cruiser tied for second.
Sequoia, Tacoma, 4Runner round out the top ten.

No Big 3 - 1/2 tons in the Top Ten

Whoever did this study must be on the take from Ford! Toyota is by far the most-likely to reach 250k miles, even non-Toyota fans have to admit it.

Sure, an F350 will hit a quarter million miles, but you're gonna spend a small fortune getting it there. Diesel pickups are great for what they are, but a lot of expensive maintenance comes along with it.

And I'm no Ford diesel expert, but they've had their share of problems over the years...

Yes, without a cost of maintenance and repair over its life (which is a more important to me) it's hard to glean too much from these.

Just the trucks from the list.
Can someone explain why the more upscale GMC 1/2 ton could be rated lower than the Silverado?
Also the new RAM 1500 has the highest consumer rating for reliability - for new trucks.
But it scores really low here.

I've got an '04 Titan 4x4 (purchased brand new Jan. '05) that only has 125k miles...guess I've got a ways to go, eh?

All I've done to the truck is typical maintenance: fluids, brakes, tires, cleaning, etc. Replaced a couple of power window motors, the tailpipe, and bypassed the in-radiator trans cooler (added axillary one).

Not bad for almost 19 years!

Mine did get a new axle in '07 or so, some sort of recall. I keep waiting for it to die, and it just wont.

I had a 2005 F-350. It had constant engine troubles and cost me over $5k after warranty and it still was not right. It would cost a fortune to keep that truck going to 250k miles.

I traded it in on a Tundra back in 2010 and have had zero truck issues since.

I didn't think a F350 owner would consider a 1/2 ton Tundra (payload and the way truck is used) unless your needs changed ?
