The factory installed backup camera stopped working about 3-years ago with out any warning. I've spent countless hours looking for information on troubleshooting the issue.

I've checked any of the connections i could access, everything looked fine. No visible problems to the wire harness either.
Recently, the camera will blip on for a few seconds with a very scrambled video picture after i shifted into reverse. So I started playing around with the shifter and on occasion i would be able to get it to pop back up again.
Does anyone know if there is a switch attached to the shifter that may be bad or out of whack that could be affecting the operation of the camera?

It's hard to diag a back up camera from my experience. I would try another camera otherwise I'd find the video cord that goes from radio to camera and try replacing that . That would be the only 2 things I could think of besides there's a problem with radio . It's not complicated just gotta swap out components.
