Wondering what you guys make of all this rust? The truck is from New York where they heavily salt the roads, but I’ve been driving it hard for a few months through Baja. Upon getting back I’ve probably done 4-5 car washes and undercarriage washes.

THE rust is coming in pretty strong.

Should i go straight to the fluid film? Or try to sand this stuff off at all, before applying?

That's not bad. Spend some time under there hitting it with a wire wheel on a drill, a bit of rust converter/primer, then shoot some black on it and be good to go.

I’ve seen of people complaining about the weld rust on post-Covid tundras - this must be what they’re talking about. It appears to be coming from the inside out but I live in the desert so I don’t know shit about rust.
